Nestled in the hills of Leucadia, Fox Point Farms is home to Haven Farm + Table, a new Californian restaurant helmed by Chef de Cuisine Kelston Moore and General Manager and Wine Director Ricardo Zarate Jr. Haven features the bountiful produce of the three-acre regenerative farm located just steps away from the kitchen. Delight in innovative dishes such as the Jerk Pork Belly Mole while dining on the terrace overlooking our lush fields, or sip a cocktail designed by Phillip Laethem in the stately yet cozy dining room.

    Haven is a beautiful venue, and I very much appreciated That so many menu items are sourced fresh from the farm the restaurant overlooks. Food is good, but not excellent. It feels as though the staff still need to work out a few kinks and prioritize flavor over presentation. For example, there is a dessert, which while in itself is delicious, is inexplicably paired with flavorless chewy popcorn. Just no. Some work on the menu could make this a true “haven” among restaurants, but at the moment it just misses the mark. Exorbitant prices do not help.

    We had a great experience. The food was delicious & our service was exceptional. We chose to sit on the side by the fireplace but unfortunately by. A speaker . We were still able to hold a conversation but would have preferred a lower level. We did not ask for them to lower the sound level though. You’ll enjoy FHF.

    Meredith our server was amazing , she made great suggestions , gave great service and was very personable. I Was confused entering the property - a large staircase to the entryway . I found an elevator thru the back of the store downstairs - it was closed but the door was unlocked . It was kind-of weird

    Overall we really liked the restaurant. The view over the farm outside is quite beautiful. The service was really good! The menu is a little limited for picky people though everyone did find something. Dinner was served too quick after getting our salad at the table. Also, $12 for bread???? A little outrageous. The cocktails were all very good! We will be back.

    Loved Haven but I would suggest the cocktails served in more upscale glasses for a better presentation. The vibe was super fun!!

    We had dinner here the other night, and I would sum up our experience as a work in progress with high potential. The ambiance of the restaurant is exceptional. I could absolutely see it being a great place to grab a glass of wine in front of their large, centered fireplace. The hostesses were pleasant and we secured a nice table. The waiter seemed nice enough, but entered the steak meal when i had ordered the short ribs. While he apologized and I appreciate we all make mistakes, I had to wait roughly 15 minutes while my fellow diners ate (at my insistence). The food was good, consistent with what you would find at a similarly priced coastal restaurant. It happened to be one member of our groups birthday, and they were kind enough to bring out a biscuit like dish w a candle. However, the dish was just not very good and it cost $15. I would have expected, given the wrong order fiasco, that Haven would have either comped the desert, waived one of the two $30 corkage fees or perhaps even discounted the late meal, But unfortunately nothing. In summary, we had a nice evening and I believe Haven will continue to improve.

    Sat outside, bit cold under infrared heaters. Portions great size, food interesting but some tries to hard. Skip prawns and oyster appetizers.

    I wanted to love it. The location and concept are fantastic, and eventually, when they are fully up and running, im sure they will iron out some of the kinks, but it was a high and low experience. The location and experience when on property was great - being able to roam around with my family was an awesome excuse to show up early and learn about the farm and have a drink from the brewery before. Dinner was where the issues were - prices seemed a little inflated with the overall flavor and finishing of food. Bread and Butter were great, Soup was nice, but entree's were hit and miss. The portions seemed to reflect the inflated price, but the flavors werent there. The salad had minimal dressing and lacked substance. The Halibut looked beautiful but was one-note. Short rib was similar - surprised on how lack of complexity it had. The carrots were cooked well, but didnt get washed enough as a few of them i bit into had dirt that was an audible "crunch" to it. Last but not least was the dessert - which sounded great, but the theme seemed to be lack of flavor - the cake was slighty dry and wasnt quite balanced, though the salted carmel sauce was stellar. Panna Cotta needed a bit more sugar as it was very subtle and just tasted like a texture rather than flavor. My highlight was the cocktail which was great... Overall, id go back in a few months in hopes things would get refined and dialed in specifically on food - as the staff were all great!
