Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

Great location in Canary Wharf. Food at Hawksmoor never disappoints, Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection and the wine list varied to choose an amazing red to enjoy with the steak. Service was excellent as always, keep up the great work Hawksmoor

In comparison with the other Hawksmoor restaurants the ambience just wasn’t there. The food and service was 1st class as usual.

We visited to celebrate my husbands birthday. I’ll start with the positives: our server was amazing, shout out to Sara. Super friendly, attentive and was always making sure our glasses were topped up and made sure we were well looked after. We had a lovely starter which was really nice, had the carpaccio. For mains we shared the prime rib steak which unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations. Meat was quite tough and chewy, good taste but I have had much better steaks elsewhere (and much cheaper!). But that was not what ruined our night…. It came to deserts, we ordered cheese and a tiramisu, which I’m going to be honest, just looked like a massive splodge on my plate and was not fresh, and shortly after the manager comes to us to tell us we had 10 minutes to finish as they needed the table back!! I have to clarify, it wasn’t our fault, we actually arrived at our table half hour early! the service was slow, mains took a good 20 minutes to arrive, I appreciate it was a busy night. But to not be able to even finish our deserts and asking us to leave, when let’s not forget it was a birthday and a special night for us, that completely ruined the experience. And then had the audacity to bring us a box of chocolates and a candle as we were leaving! Felt like throwing it back to their faces!!! There are many ways they couldn’t have handled this, that was NOT the way. To their defence they did knock off about 30% of the bill, and offered a round of drinks and deserts for next visit, but I’m sorry that did not compensate for ruining my husbands birthday. We left with a very angry and sour note to the night, and charged close to £200 for the experience! No, I will NEVER come back. And steaks are not that great either!

Service for the price was below what I would have expected, especially in comparison to the other Hawksmoors I've frequented.

We had the most amazing experience and the best waitor. Matt helped us with what was the best steak to have with our preferences on how we like to have it cooked. He was fun and knowledgable and very attentive. 100% would come back.

Great service, lovely interior. Well cooked sides (chips, spinach, mushrooms). The T-bone was mediocre at best, it was cooked OK, but the tenderloin section was non-existent... go for the Porterhouse instead. Now for the weird bit... I ordered 500ml of the Chateau Rauzan-Segla 2016, which came in a little decanter. Now I like Bordeaux, particularly Margaux. But... it tasted nothing like a Bordeaux blend, it was definitely French from the smell, but it was much lighter (and younger) than the expected 'Powerful, full bodied, blackberry loaded' wine from this estate. So what do you do? I should have asked to see the bottle, but you don't want to cause a scene. My advice would be to order a full bottle and watch them open it in front of you... live and learn.

Firstly I would like to thank the serving staff as they were brilliant. The problem we had was we ordered two burgers and when they turned up there was no cheese in either of them. We did call the waiter over and just asked to bring the cheese out which he did. We are not ones to cherry pick things but this was an important ingredient. At the end when we asked for the bill the waiter took a round of drinks off, we didn’t even ask him to, and it was a nice gesture. Noise levels were quiet high as a few groups of Hooray Henry’s came in after a few and were all talking over each other, least I know where they are going on holiday this year and what cars they want to buy next. Well done to the severing staff again.

Dear John, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! I’m so glad to hear that our serving staff made a positive impression—they’ll be thrilled to hear your kind words. I’m also sorry that the burgers didn’t come out as expected without the cheese, and I really appreciate your understanding when we quickly addressed it. It’s great to know that the staff’s gesture of removing a round of drinks made up for the mistake—it’s always nice to hear when we get it right. As for the noise levels, we understand that it can sometimes be a bit lively, especially when large groups are around, and we appreciate your patience with that. Thanks again for your understanding and for recognizing our team. We hope to welcome you back soon for another great meal! Best, Latifa Hawksmoor Wood Wharf

Usual efficient service. Had the burger which was very reminiscent of the Big Mac…in size too…all the marketing material suggests a much larger burger but that’s marketing for you!
