   Great first visit to Haywire. Pretty quiet lunch crowd on this post-holiday Friday. We were warmly greeted and seated, got good recommendations and service from Kevin, and even a scrumptious looking bread pudding on the house to celebrate the birthday girl. Nice upscale ranch vibe interiors with valet or free garage parking. Will be back to try more menu items.

   This was our first time visiting this restaurant. Overall we had an outstanding experience. We highly recommend the Chefs Favorite 4, the chicken fried steak and Texas farm raised redfish. The BBQ baby back ribs were ok. We had the whiskey bread pudding for dessert which did not disappoint.

   This was our second time visiting Haywire in Houston. I have to say we weren’t disappointed. From the service, food and the atmosphere, this place is amazing!! I highly recommend Haywire!

   Great ambiance but food was not up to par from the other times that we went. Service was good but really slow due to staff shortage. We ordered meat and cheese board and the board did not have much compared to the other 3 times we have been there. It was very skimpy so we were disappointed. We had steak for dinner and I requested medium well but got well done. My guest asked for medium and got medium well. We did not want them to redo since it took a very long time to get our food in the first place. We always had good experience but this time, they missed the mark tonight.

   Our first visit to this fairly newly built gem of a Restaurant in the Memorial Mall area. Decor and ambiance most impressive. Its 2 story structure allows plenty of room for large parties or intimate settings. Love the multiple chandeliers throughout which gives the rooms an elevated elegance. Chicken fried chicken dinner was delicious but could have been served hotter. My meatloaf dinner had a good tex-mex flavor and we both loved the Texas sweet cornbread.

    Dined in yesterday for a friends birthday dinner, immediately as I walked in you can tell they wanted a very specific aesthetic and I thought it was well put together. Rustic, Texan chic. Upon going up the hostess, I gave her my name for the reservation that I made, showed her proof that I made the reservation and every thing. I guess that wasn’t enough for her because she questioned me twice about what my name was and what time my reservation was. Personally, I thought it was tacky especially since I already nicely repsonded and showed her on open table that I made the reservation. Once she realized how wrong she was, she apologized, which was cool, but at the same time, that is a perfect example of putting your foot in your mouth. Make sure you all make a reservation and show proof of it. Hostess’s are strict. Onto service, I cannot remember her name but she was fabulous. Very attentive, very personable, I feel bad I can’t remember her name because I would recommend her to anyone that goes to that restaurant. Food wise, we ordered New York strips with mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was the least inspiring side dish. Very much gave, Kraft Mac and cheese. The whipped potatoes were simply just that. The New York strip had to be sent back because it was not a good medium well, but the chef redeemed himself and the next one was spot on. Drinks 10/10 and that cornbread recipe, needs to be wrap up and sold because it’s simply, just that good. Haywire, good job. Some minor inconsistencies and some tweaks but overall, I would return and with cowboy hat! 😂 - Big Lex The Kritic
