Very welcoming manager and staff. Have been looking forward to coming here after the renovation and it did not disappoint. The fit out is beautiful and showcases the beautiful gardens surrounding it. Usually have to travel to Cronulla for a venue like this so we were pleased to have this closer to home. Cocktails were really excellent! Will be returning for more of these as well as the stracciatella and scotch fillet with Hazel butter. Raspberry sorbet and Hazel eclair were not too sweet and a perfect way to finish. Came back for coffee to enjoy the gardens during the day.

We were originally seated for 2 persons inside positioned between two othwr tables of 4’persons it felt squashed. We then relocated outside deck under a tree on shade due to a hot summer day it became unbearable. Food was very nice, Chicken vol au vant & grilled barramundi with vegies. Wine by the glass exie $18 for a french rose. We go back again in the cooler months.

We were there at 9.30am, so there is a limited menu. Plenty of muffins and sweet treats to choose from though. Staff were lovely and very attentive.

Best Barramundi ever! The chefs know exactly how to cook this fish to perfection. Hazel restaurant is set in this most lovely setting of Hazlehurst Gallery, away from the bustle and busyness of the 'Shire'. The very recent revamp and renovation of the restaurant is lovely and appealing. I understand still some minor signage work to finish off. As an outsider a large, clear 'Hazel' sign will help patrons arriving. I understand this is happening. Staff go out of their way to accommodate patrons. I was impressed.

Such a beautiful venue, a great location for a special occasion. The food was exceptional (the gnocchi especially) The staff were very attentive (Thanks Oceane) We had our five year old with us and our waitress had pencils ready to go, loved that the back of kids menu had a local artists artwork for colouring in, our daughter happily took her colouring in to the grass/gardens right in front of the tables while we had our main meal. Can't wait to go back and try the crudo!

We were pleasantly surprised at the overall appearance of The Hazel Kitchen and Bar as it has been elegantly transformed into a beautiful Art Deco restaurant. There was a good selection of meals for lunch with perfect portions. I had the Chicken Baguette and it was delicious, making it GF was no issue. My friend had the Vol-Au-Vent which was delicious too. The meal and drinks were reasonably priced for lunch and the atmosphere is excellent with the doors open to fill the restaurant with fresh air.

I wish I had some better things to say about as I was very much looking forward to having the cafe at Hazelhurst reopen, as it was always our go to for group catch ups with kids. However the new owners have definitely gone in a different direction which is a big shame. First problem we had was that we did request an indoor table given the heat and for sun protection. Once arrived part of our table had already been seated and as they were unaware of the request were settled outside. The umbrella set up did little to protect us from the sun and they have removed previous shade including a large tree and roofing Second problem was the service. Initially quite full on but forgot a drink, had to ask multiple times for it. Then once our food was served, we got no future assistance. No one asked if we wanted more drinks nor dessert. Our plates lay on the table for around 20 mins with no one collecting Third problem. The menu. Quite outrageously priced now. Children’s meal $18. Pretty thrown together sandwich around the same price on what I can assume was helga like bread. The wine list was so extensive and is now less than a handful or beyond ridiculously priced. I find it hard coping such high prices when there is shared public toilets with the gallery. Outdoor tables on the grass have been removed and definitely not a child friendly dining experience now. The previous cafe was easy, yet had really yummy food that suited everyone and had a great relaxed without being lazy vibe, where families of all ages could go and enjoy the grounds and the food. It’s a shame that’s now gone and replaced with an upscaled poorly serviced cafe/restaurant. Hopefully the new staff can see this review and improve, but I won’t be recommending to my friends and family based on our initial experience. As I said I had very high hopes and unfortunately they fell well short. But if this is what the new owners were hoping to achieve I guess they have.
