   My husband, son and I visited for the Christmas lights. Our experience was a mixed bag. We sat by the street side window. There are colorful lights and garland hanging by the windows. There are decorations hanging from the ceiling, over the bar, grill and cabinets. It’s nice but unfortunately too narrow to walk around for a good look. Comfort: It appears the only 3 top tables are at the front door/window. There are colorful lights and garlands on the windows. Unfortunately the cold frigid air hit us every time someone used the door. My husband kept his coat on, I my scarf and we wished for thicker socks. Food: I had the apple salad, short ribs and chocolate mousse. It was all great! My son enjoyed his egg nog and sweet potato ravioli. He enjoyed his French fries but didn’t take more than 2 bites of his burger not really enjoying it. My husband enjoyed a few beer but was very disappointed with the rockfish. Service: We found the service to be good especially given how busy they were. We were not rushed. Our entree order was not taken until I finished my salad. The pace was appreciated. We were in and out in 75 minutes.

   Helen’s is always a hit! The food is to die for and the servers are knowledgeable, friendly and kind.

   Great burger, very good fries, outstanding sweet potato with caramel cheesecake! Excellent service and the best holiday decor around.

   Service was a bit scattered. Usually it’s amazing. Food was good. Some of the dishes didn’t stand out as much. Cocktails on point as always.

   If you can get a reservation in the month of December do it. Helen's goes all out with the Christmas decorations. The food is great and the staff is wonderful. Highly recommended.

   The cod had no flavor. The rabbit dish had very little rabbit meat. The server was too busy hanging out with the kitchen chit chatting. At one point the server and the cooking staff all disappeared together. I was excited to go here. I will not be going back. Too many other good options in Richmond.

    I hadn’t been to Helen’s in many years and it was every bit as good as I remembered. I brought out of town guests and all of us had a great dinner. The service was excellent and they accommodated two requests for substitutions graciously. It’s such a relief to take visitors to a restaurant and have them rave about their meal!
