   I visited Hello Betty for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised! The food was incredible – from the sweet potato biscuits to the pancakes and mimosas. I used to pass by this place all the time and never thought to stop in, but now I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu.

   Small portions of ok food. Tried it for restaurant week and will not return. But it’s probably a lovely place for a drink on their terrace.

   The restaurant was not at all busy on a weeknight, and Miguel provided excellent service. I opted for the Restaurant Week menu and really enjoyed the hush puppies and shrimp and grits. Great presentation, too. The chocolate dessert I took home and ate the next day. It wasn’t bad, but I think a lighter, less dense crust would make it better. I would definitely return for the food and service, but I wouldn’t go again during Restaurant Week. Based on my calculation, it was not a a good deal.

   Menu online, did not match the menu at the restaurant. They were out of Ice tea, which seemed so odd service was ok, ambience was great, live music, but not sure I’ll be back

   Chef B has done it again!! Take him anywhere and he'll make magic. I'm a frequent patron of Pike and Rose and when I learned my favorite D.C. chef was now there I had to pull up. And pull up I did, trying everything my his famous crawfish Mac, gumbo, chicken and waffles, side of grits, pecan pancakes (new), and one of my new favorites of his the fried ribs🤤🤤🤤 everything was was delicious and well prepared. My daughter is obsessed with his biscuits and he was overjoyed to have them (he would be awarded a prize for his biscuits alone). Just the qualify my review, I'm a New Orleans girl living in the DMV for the last three years and his food is as close to home as I get outside my own kitchen. Will be back this week to try his restaurant week offerings.

   Management needs to seriously address issues. We dined with only 6 filled tables-service was slow, food was cold and priced way too high (compared to neighborhood). Crabcake was not commensurate w price. Salad was priced as a full salad but was a $22 appetizer w way too much dressing. Kids pasta Alfredo was weird tasting. All food was COLD! The kitchen seems to be the main problem as it’s a cute space. Management should have seen one waitress struggling to get food out to six tables. We waited over 30 mins for food in an empty restaurant.

   Waiter never checked on our order or to see if we needed anything. Food was disappointing-not flavorful and took too long. Manager was nice and acknowledged the service issues but it just wasn’t a good experience. Cute place, nice ambiance and lovely outdoor seating but I can’t recommend the food.

    A complete surprise. This restaurant is located on the rooftop/mezzanine area of the ALoft. I had avoided it thinking that it sounded silly, but actually, after dinner with a friend inside the mezzanine, I'm a fan. That may have been due to our outstanding waiter. I wish I remembered his name! Anyway, I'll be back. Definitely worth a second trip!
