HSC is a great addition to HLN dining options. The renovation of the venue was very nicely done while preserving the charm of the old log cabin. Once again we enjoyed the Caesar salad nicely appointed with trout spread on toast points and the pecan crusted trout with winter vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes… yummy. Thanks to everyone.

This was our first visit since they opened. The Log Cabin was restored beautifully and the staff is very nice. We were disappointed however in the taste of the food and the inability of the restaurant to exchange sides when essentially the only green vegetables offered were collar greens or substitute asparagus. At least one guest appeared to have pecan shells in the pecan crusting and the trout was served skin side up which you were unable to tell because it was coated with the pecan crusting. Serving the trout over polenta or grits as other restaurants do would enhance this dish. The trout was well cooked and tasty, just a little off-putting the way it was served. I know they want to make a name for themselves as a new restaurant in town. As residents, we are so grateful they have restored the Log Cabin and are now offering dinner after a long hiatus. I hope my comments will go a long way to perhaps improve the preparation and presentation of the food. This restaurant, because of his history, could certainly become a hidden gem in Highlands. Thank you.

Very nice atmosphere, food was good but not great. Drink pours very marginal and expensive for what was received. Ordered a martini and looked as if half of it was missing! Asked for a second with a decent pour and was much better but was charged $35! Beware!

Cool, and simple interior. The food topped expectations for us; however, it does have a southern tilt (e.g. grits, biscuits, etc.), so if that is not your thing, you may enjoy it less. Doesn’t try to be anything it’s not and is priced accordingly - more modest than many other Highlands restaurants. We would recommend.
