   The food was amazing, the chef explained the sourcing and preparation of everything thing ate , the sake pairing enhanced the meal and the service was great. A wonderful intimate experience.

   Go in hungry! Amazing experience. Everyone was wonderful, you will not walk out hungry. Was great hearing the history and stories behind the dishes being served.

   I am running out of superlatives when reviewing Hikari. So I will just say that it is by far the best, and in my opinion, the only high-end restaurant in Davis. That is somewhat surprising given the Davis demographics, so thank you chefs for this unique local dining experience.

   We have been looking forward to this dining experience for a long time and I hate to say we were both disappointed. The whole experience seems like a carefully crafted rouse to make money. All of the employees are acting in a play they are putting on every night. There is no one there with any experience except in acting. Bravo on your performance but boooo on the charade and playing this game with people. It appears that most locals have figured out that the sushi "chef" is there only because she is in her own words "Japanese" . None of the employees have experience and have worked under no one, I work in this industry - shame on you to the owners. Take your money else where this is all hype

   This is my second time at Hikari Sushi, and the experience this time around was just as spectacular as the first, if not more. The passion and care they put into their food does not go unnoticed and their attention to detail when it comes to making sure their customers have a good experience is top notch. They've even remembered from my first time around that I was a left-handed individual, so table settings and food placements were even catered to that preference. Quality of ingredients being fantastic, and meticulous and passionate preparation made each course amazingly delicious and left me wanting to polish off each dish clean. On top of delicious food and amazing service, ambiance and vibes were simply on point. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be coming back here. I want to be able to share this experience with more people.

   We had an absolutely delightful birthday dinner with our son and my mother. The sake pairing made the evening even more special. It was great to hear the explanations of what we were eating, and the thought processes involved.
