   House 157 was an excellent dinning experience. The decor is beautiful, the ambiance was amazing, the service was great and the food was delicious. We had an opportunity to meet the owner and was very nice.

   I visited this restaurant on this day for the Afro/Caribbean night. My complaint is for the DJ and not the restaurant itself. The food, drinks and wait staff was top notch and definitely excel in their crafts. But the damn DJ and mic man. Event was advertised to start at 7pm, I arrived at 7:30pm and he’s sitting at the bar. At 8:30 the DJ queues up some Afro beats nicely but late. The mic man joins him and omg he was shouting, picking on one damn girl and her friends ALL night; it was giving stalker vibes. The music was all over the place SMH. I love HOUSE 157 but this is the first time I’ve been disappointed in the entertainment. I won’t visit Afro nights or won’t promote it to others; it’s a shame though.

   The food was delicious!! There were six of us and we all had something different and no one had any complaints about the food. Service however was a bit iffy and we weren’t that thrilled about being told our reservation was up. Like I stated there were six of us, we ordered multiple cocktails, brunch and dessert. The bill was over $600 so I fell like we could have been dealt with a lil nicer. I get that you have time limits, but how it is that a table of 2 and a table of 6 have the same amount of time. I don’t want this to be a negative review because as I stated, the food was delicious. I’m just hoping that they will read this and make a few adjustments.

   I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I must say, it was truly an exceptional experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm and welcoming, showing us to our table and presenting us with menus. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with dim lighting and soft music playing in the background. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu and making excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely phenomenal! The flavors were bold and complex, and the portions were generous. The service was top-notch, with our server checking in frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and service. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.    8pm reservation They had run out of numerous menu items Red Snapper, Red Velvet Cake Service was slow and spotty Very disappointed 😞 They were unorganized, Filet Mignon was a poor butchers cut, and tough Never again 😒

   I brought my mother and two sisters to House 157 in Roselle Park for Mother’s Day, hoping for a memorable evening. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. The service was extremely slow, the food lacked quality, and the entire experience felt chaotic and overpriced. We waited over an hour just to receive our appetizers, and it took nearly two full hours before the main dishes came out. For a dinner for four, we paid over $500 including tip, which was outrageous given the level of service and the underwhelming food. The flavors were forgettable, the portions didn’t match the prices, and the overall dining experience fell completely flat. I truly regret not going to Capital Grille instead, where we’ve always had reliable service and great food. House 157 is not somewhere I would recommend for special occasions or anyone expecting a smooth and satisfying dining experience.
