   The service was better this time but the kitchen is still very slow. It was surprising to find that the oyster stew did not contain any oysters. Their explanation was that there were oysters blended into the broth. This was the first time I was served oyster stew and was unable to find a single oyster in it.

   We love eating at The Hunt Room in the historic Cavalier Hotel. We requested seating at the bar which is always warm and cozy with a window looking into the Tarnished Truth Distillery, We started with Smoked Old Fashioneds made with Tarnished truth bourbon. Next, we split a wedge salad, which was the perfect amount for both of us. I had the Brisket French Dip as my main course. It was served piping hot and stuffed with tender and juicy beef brisket. My husband opted for the Fish and Chips, which were perfectly cooked with a crunchy shell highlighting tender cod fish. He also ordered a side of their cornbread stuffing - a delightful addition that is normally served as a side for the roasted quail. We were so full, that there was no room for one of their delicious house-made desserts. Looking forward to our next visit to the Hunt Room,

    We visited this place on Wednesday, 2/26/25 for a business dinner. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with dim lighting, and a toasty warm fireplace. The seating was comfortable. The service was exceptional—our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were on the higher side, but the quality justified the cost. They also had a good selection of food, and the smoked old-fashioned bourbon was delicious. Overall, this restaurant is perfect for a relaxed evening with great food. I’d highly recommend it for date nights or small gatherings.
