I always enjoy eating here, you get the nice cinema vibe along with comfort. Had fish and sweet potato fries, my friend had chicken burger. Very tasty. Wines were pinot grigio and verdejo. I love that you get an option of medium or large glass. On previous occasions I've had the cheese board which I highly recommend.

It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at the IFI café. The atmosphere was buzzing. We ordered the calamari to share as a starter & wow what a taste sensation. Mains we tried old favourites of fish and chips & beef burger. Both were top notch, but the burger in particular was 10/10. If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Dublin, then head here for some unexpectedly delicious food.

Service was expectional. Food was excellent - the battered fish was cooked to perfection. The 70’s presented trifle of mango, passionfruit was an unusual take on a classic and was a delight. Others who had the burgers said they were delicious too.

Irish Film Institute & Café is a unique central Dublin venue. Lovely to enjoy an arthouse film & chat afterwards over good food, wine, coffee, desserts etc. IFI annual membership also gives discounts for films + the café. The service was great, the food just right & very good value in a candle-lit relaxing atmosphere.

Bisque was bland with few frozen shrimps at the bottom. Bruschetta was a piece of cheap toast bread, not even sourdough, with bitter caramelised onions and a slice of basic processed ham. We asked for duck breast to be pink but it came completely well done. Plates were not heated so the food went cold in minutes. We didn't have coffee or dessert because the service was so slow we ran out of time (an hour and a half to have just 2 courses). Getting staff attention was challenging. Two waiters were roaming the restaurant non stop but just didn't see our waving hands or dirty plates sitting on the table for ages. Polite service but not efficient. Noone ever even asked if the food had been any good (it wasn't, we were just very hungry). Disappointing.

We ate here three times in the last week, before or after French Film Festival films. All the meals were tasty and good value, service was pleasant (a bit slow to get served on Saturday but that's understandable) and the noise level was fine.
