   Food is excellent; serive the same. Ambienace so-so but food and service quality so excellent, nothing else matters.

   I went with my picky eater 13 year old son. Even he was impressed and tried a variety of new things! Phenomenal experience! Valet parking available, kind staff with great knowledge and feedback about the menu, and the food was amazing! From the appetizers (we tried the mozzarella fritta and arancini) to the salad (octopus salad aka polipo, patate e arugula) to the entrees (sole special for me and lasagna for my son) to the desserts (cannoli and tronco) to the homemade limoncello… Delicious! Such a treat all around! We will be back!

   What a fantastic dining experience! The food was delicious, and the service really made us feel at home, especially since the family is from our hometown of San Pedro. We will definitely come back.

   Our favorite local neighborhood gem. Best calamari in town. Specials are delicious. I had the best dirty martini ever. They stuffed the olives with blue cheese which made it over the top. We look forward to going every time because the food is exceptional and the service is always exquisite as well. This is a destination not to be missed!!

   This was our first time at Il Barone. We drive by it every day on our commutes, and my husband is always looking for good pizza. The Yelp reviews were right on point. This place is very LOUD! So much so that I wouldn't take my mother there. Besides that, everything was very good. We had attentive service and delicious food. The pepperoni pizza with hot honey was excellent; their dough (I believe they say it's yeast-free?) was soo light and delicious, and the sauce and pepperoni were very tasty. I got the waiter's recommendation of the beef ravioli which was a large and hearty portion. I had a martini with house-made limoncello which was also very good. We will be back.

   It’s a nice place with decent service and very average food for the price. I wouldn’t say don’t go there, but I think there are several better Italian restaurants in the same price point.

    Host and server were pleasant. Food was good but way overpriced for portion size. I asked to sub out my potatoes side for pasta and they said no. How can you not do that? Room was so noisy we could not talk. Decor had no elegance and was in shades of brown drab-bare floor, no tablecloths. And what a bad impression up front for the only choice to be forced into $10 valet parking. We won’t go back. There are better Italian restaurants right down PCH in Newport. Sad because this was not the original Il Barone we remembered.
