Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal.     One complaint, why don’t you have the yellow sweetener, Splenda (sucralose)? I hate the taste of Stevia.

    Food was really disappointing. After sending calamari back because it was clearly cooked/fried in burnt oil, replacement tasted the same/worse so had to send back for something different. Then two of the 8 of us ordered the chicken parm and looked like it came out of a premade dish and chicken was so rubbery we had 2 bites and couldn’t finish it either. For $450, it was a true disappointment as PS locals trying it for the first time and unfortunately won’t recommend.

    Enjoyable experience except for two things. 1. Reservations was made early so we were surprised to be initially seated at the very worst table in the place.. right in front of the kitchen with the chaos to foot traffic coming in and out plus the lighting in that area which is at odds with the ambiance at every other table. We expressed our displeasure and were shown to another table.. on the patio which would not have been our first choice but it certainly was an improvement. 2. Mix up with entrees. One of us ordered seafood risotto and was served a plate of pasta with clam sauce. By the time the entree was switched three out of four had been served and were virtually finished so one of us played "catch up." Despite this, we'd go back but would specifically specify the table at which we wouldn't want to be seated.

    We always come here when we go to Palm Springs. It is the best Italian restaurant with a beautiful, comfortable atmosphere.

    We had the tri coloured salad and burrata to start, both delicious. Then the tagliatelle and osso bucco both incredible. The terimsu to end the night. A must eat
