   Our waiter was not friendly and not attentive. One guest had very dry over cooked salmon. We had to ask for water and bread and waited a while for that. One guest had the shrimp and scallop plate which had 2 shrimp and 3 small scallops - not sure how that could warrant a $44 cost. Overall disappointing.

   Our server was very nice, but VERY slow service, bar was apparently backed up, took over 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. Pizza was undercooked. Chicken was underwhelming. Brussel Sprouts and carpaccio very tasty.

   Given the Holiday season, the restaurant was very busy and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The service was excellent despite the crowd. I had branzino and loved it. My partner had swordfish and felt it was overcooked so the waitress encouraged him to send it back and get another order cooked to his liking. The second order was perfect. We also split a caesar salad which was ample for 2.

   Calamari overcooked gummy Al dente pasta was too al dente Open calzone was served cold (sat at kitchen counter for nearly 20 min Service was on slo-mo. Other than that food and service were great. However to make it up the ambiance was noisy

   As always Il Fornaio is our family’s favorite for family gatherings, celebrations or new family guests introduction. We enjoyed every dish we ordered especially the Grilled seafood plater and chicken in mushrooms.

   Brought a friend to the Corte Madera location for her bday. After being seated, the hostess brought over a little card for the table for my friend's bday. During our lunch the hostess then brought over a glass of white wine and put it in the middle of the table and said Happy Birthday even though I said we didn't order it. We said thank you and thought it was a nice gesture. Shortly after that a server came over with a plate of Calamari. Again we didn't order that so he turned around and took it back. A different waiter then took it over to the table across from us. A short time later same waiter came over and asked if we had ordered the glass of wine. I told him no and we hadn't touched it. With that he picked it up and took it over to the same table that he took the Calamari to!! I think that was a health department issue. If that had been me I would have refused the wine and asked for a new one. We also ordered dessert and waiter brought it over with a candle and sang. Nice gesture. Not only was the complimentary glass of wine taken away but I was charged for the glass of wine that I did order! Nor was the dessert comp'd for my friend's bday. In the past I have had a dessert comp'd for a bday. Very uncomfortable situation. Food is always good though and our waitress was great!!

   Great waiter. Hostess was able to accommodate a surprise extra guest. Kids were treated well. Quality food. Fast attentive service.

   Found out today that bread is no longer served but now must be ordered. A disappointment after years of receiving fresh bread with delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the start of a meal. This little thing, always seems to differentiate your restaurant from the competition. It’s only a small $4 to order bread now but we received day old bread because it’s no longer a daily staple before lunch. I guess times are hard for everyone. Just thought u should hear of our disappointment in our recent experience. Staff are always cordial, friendly and prompt.
