Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 6 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and value for money. My wife Laura and I became so tired of being disappointed every time we ordered food out, that we decided to take matters into our own hands.

    The pasta was exceptional with delicious sauces. We had the Penne Arribbiata (very spicy), the Fusilli combo (fantastic flavours) and the Rigatoni Ragù Toscana (reminded me of Italy). We also had the Caprese salad with the most delicate burrata I’ve ever eaten. The staff was very helpful with my only issue being it took a long time between courses, which may have been because the pasta is fresh. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back on our next visit to Terrigal

    The food it’s always excellent. Large portions so you’ll never go away feeling hungry. Love the seating inside , has a special feel about it. One if our favourite places to eat in Terrigal.

    We got a very warm welcome, the service was good for a busy Valentines night. The food was well prepared and delicious generous plate serve, plus there was nice selection of wines. We look forward to our next reservation.

    Everything about Il Toscano Restaurant was just amazing, the food to die for, the ambiance was lovely, the service was spectacular, this was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely night.

    Food was average but not great. Service was similar, ok but nothing to rave about, and overpriced for what it was. Would we go back again, probably not.

    Really lovely overall. Menu selections plentiful and heaps of vegetarian and vegan . Ambience great. The only criticism i would have is I found the dishes had just a bit too much oil . Flavours lovely and food seemed really fresh. I'd definitely go back.
