   Eating at Il Vecchio is always a treat. I’m Italian, and it’s like being at a family member’s table. The flavors are outstanding and you know the care that went into preparing each meal.

   It took an hour to get beet salad. That was soon followed by one of our entrees, which was lukewarm. The ragu was fatty and not tender. That entree was eaten before the second entree arrived, which was alfredo sauce instead of cacio e pepe. They apologized and took the entree off the bill, and gave a 10% discount. They tried to make it right but still made for a disappointing dinner.

   Service and food were excellent. We went on a Thursday and the Blues musician was outstanding. Look forward to our next visit!

    First time for dinner after the new owners took over. They've done a nice job tweaking and updating the menu, putting their own spin on the dishes. I had the pork ribs (new) and molinari sausage (new treatment), and my wife had the chili salmon (new). Everything was delicious, well prepared with attractive plating. For those who are familiar with the prior incarnation, be aware that the prices are substantially higher than they were. However, they are reasonable when compared to similar restaurants on the peninsula, so it's not a deal breaker in any way. No more house wine or bargain aperitifs that I could see, but you can get a glass of red for $12 which these days is on the low end. They're doing pastry and coffee in the mornings now. Not my cup of tea, but should they return to a full breakfast I'll be back for that.
