Absolutely amazing food. Service was good but not outstanding, our waiter seemed a bit distracted.

We have been a number of times and food never disappoints - best Indian cuisine I have had outside of central London top restaurants. Only shame this time around was that they were really hassling us to eat up and move out. I know they have a second sitting at 2030, and thats fine. We had booked for 1815 and were being chivvied along to order our main courses the moment we sat down. We had to ask staff not to clear the table 3 times because we were still eating, and that was at about 1930. Ironically we were then offered a digestif - we would much rather have been allowed to enjoy our meal without being hassled to finish and go. But it definitely wont stop us going back.

We never usually eat three courses and the set menu did not have any other option. As good as the starters were they took the edge off all our appetites which was a shame as the mains were delicious.

Great meal at Indian Essence. Good variety of drinks and cocktails and varied interesting menu. The aubergine side was amazing, lamb chop starter really delicious and kofta, chicken dishes, rice and fish were all very tasty. It's not cheap but all of the dishes look beautiful and are not basic Indian restaurant food. This restaurant is somewhere to treat yourself, take a date or celebrate a special occasion.

We have dined here on at least eight previous occasions and are big fans. Last night the food wasn't the best we've enjoyed at the restaurant. There was a certain lack of intensity in flavour this time and I felt my lamb was on the verge of becoming dry and gave the impression of having simply been reheated. My wife's chicken dish was not over-flavourful either. Disappointed that the baby aubergine side dish seems to have disappeared from the menu. We plumped for the aubergine pulp which was something of a disappointment, as was the aloo gobi. None of the dishes served at the table were over-warm. On the positive side the portions were as large as ever, and the pre-meal cocktails were superb. Overall, if I'm going to spend £180 for two at an Indian restaurant then I expect virtually everything to be perfect, however, it sadly fell somewhat short of that last night.

This was always our favourite date night restaurant and it’s taken us nearly 3 years to take our son. We enjoyed it so much! Food and drinks are excellent and the way they looked after our toddler was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back

Really nice food and service. Prawn starter was slightly too spicy but still good.
