Iris is named for the celebrated Mediterranean flower, and as a gentle nod to the “Evil Eye”, a regional legend known to ward off evil and bring great luck. Located in an iconic building of Midtown Manhattan, Iris is a restaurant that aims to showcase the best preparations of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ambition behind this culinary initiative is to focus on the style of eating rather than the provenance of each dish. Approachable, wholesome and minimally manipulated, the cuisine will show another facet of the ingredient-forward cuisine that has built John Fraser’s reputation.

    Highly underrated restaurant. The service was amazing and they were highly accommodating to our larger party. Every dish we ordered, without exception, was tasty, unique and well presented

    The octopus was Devine . Every dish was inventive and very tasty. This is no your momma’s Greek restaurant. Great location for pre-theater dinner date.

    As soon as you walk into Iris, you are treated well. Our server Alicia, was outstanding. The food was delicious. We had the Branzino and swordfish. Although there was ample Branzino, wish there was more delicious swordfish on the plate to be had. Overall excellent experience !

    Staff was amazing and kind— fabulous with recommendations. She also excited us for the Broadway show we were about to see. Food was fabulous! Definitely need to get the octopus and the braised short rib. Cocktails were to die for, especially the “dawn of adonis.” You wont regret coming here!!

    Food was excellent but view of truck vendor out the front window wasn’t very special. Should put blinds on the front window to block that scene.
