I had booked 10 days in advance through Open Table and received reminder messages. My friends and I arrived on time but we're met at the door by a sign saying there was an Oktoberfest event on which was completely booked out. Staff knew we were coming as I saw our names on a list but they seemed perplexed about what to do with us. The place was crowded and noisy. We were offered a table to the side but food would take an hour to be served. We received no apology or offer of compensation. It was a disappointing experience and we won't be rushing back. Three of us had been at The Pier on the previous Thursday for a family birthday which had also been booked. There was a meeting of local Rotarians on at the time which received service priority and so our group waited 75 minutes for our food. This is a long time for kids to wait and, given that the food is mainly burgers, the wait is hardly justified. The Pier really needs to up its game re communication and customer service. Currently very ordinary indeed.

Very long wait for our food, 80 minutes due to the Rotary Club meeting apparently needing to be served first. I believe the rotary booking is a regular booking therefore you should allow for this and either limit the numbers in the main room or ensure that the kitchen can cope with the increased numbers.

The ambience and food is good here, however they need to up their game in regards to service and wait times. There is always a lengthy wait to receive meals (well over an hour in some cases!) and always a wait to order drinks. Their wine menu is outdated and lacking of variety and the staff seem to have no idea what they are serving to patrons. Potential to be great venue, but staff need to be trained and more staff need to be available when the venue has events on.

Very unorganised event. Went to see the Neil Young tribute. Performance started 30 minutes late and was not even 2 hours long. The food was okay but extremely slow. The staff serving the dishes looked lost and walked around in circles. Too many people inside the small venue. Wouldn’t recommend. Bland menu, no desserts, no cocktails. Would be really nice if we could order food/drinks from the table using QR code.

The place was packed a great atmosphere, a short wait to be served but the staff were friendly and efficient. Our table was set-up and in a great position.

We weren’t told on booking about the event on at the time We booked our dinner table for 7.30 and the event started at 8pm, we were told to order our food straight away so we did and it was still 45 minutes wait for the food which mostly came out cold. They weren’t doing cocktails because of the event, and eventually they told us we couldn’t go outside otherwise we would have to pay to come back in to our table! We booked online but I also rang to tell them it was a birthday with a cake and again, none of this was mentioned to me. I wouldn’t go back based on this.
