J Sheekey Atlantic Bar is a hidden jewel, nestling between the bright lights of Leicester Square and the chic Covent Garden, on the doorstep of jostling Chinatown and action-fuelled Soho. Open daily from midday until late, food is seasonal, delicious and affordable. Appealing to seafood enthusiasts, but neglecting no-one, the menu offers small sharing plates of fish, shellfish, salads and game, not to mention with the very theatrical Plateau de Fruits de Mer. The team is passionate and knowledgeable, serving from an open kitchen as and when the dishes are cooked. Please note that seats are subject to a time restriction. Seats that are booked from 5.15pm to 5.45pm are available through to 7.15pm.

A bit overhyped to be honest. Service nothing special, ambiance non existent, food was passible but again nothing special.

Great food. The Sri Lankan curry was delicious (could have done with a bit more kick). All in all very tasty. Will definitely go back.

Pleasant if tight surrounds. Good service but variable food. Main observation was that plates and mains were lukewarm as was the coffee which begs the question if it was rushed or had sat on the counter a little too long. Friend said unlikely to return but I may check out the seafood in the summer. Overall, a little poorer than expected for a first visit.

We went to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The food was excellent and we had excellent service from Katalin who was friendly, funny, helpful and attentive.

Hard to beat in London for a glamorous evening with great food. All dishes delicious especially the John Dory. Service very attentive and friendly. A favourite place. Not cheap but worth it.
