    We decided to eat at JB Hooks on a Monday night because it was one of the few restaurants open in the winter. It was very busy and our waitress did a great job despite the hectic environment. The food was just okay. I understand that they were very busy but it seemed like the kitchen was having an off night. I hope our next visit is better!

    The walleye was tasteless and the scallops were substandard. We advised the waitress of our dissatisfaction, but there was no compensation or the manager or chef interaction. We ordered an appetizer, wine, main course and dessert and spent right at $200. We will look for an alternative restaurant next time we’re in town. Sad because we had enjoyed that place before.

    Everything was great until our server questioned why we didn’t tip more. Very embarrassing in front of our friends. As it was I payed the check and left half of the tip on my credit card and our friends were going to leave the rest in cash. However after being questioned by our server they decided not to tip the other half. 🙁
