Justine is a brasserie in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter. Opened in 2019 by husband-wife team Justin & Mia Devillier of La Petite Grocery, Justine combines the sophistication of Parisian brasseries with the playfulness of the South’s most lively district. Featuring dishes like Mussels, Escargot & Steak Frites, the menu honors the technique and simplicity of French classics, while evoking the senses with exciting, grand presentation. Other seafood and steak favorites include Shrimp & Grits, Pan Roasted Red Snapper, Shrimp Remoulade, NY Strip & Hanger Steak. True to the heart of French brasserie culture, the bustling, multi-roomed restaurant offers a versatile space to be enjoyed by all, whether it’s for a weekday lunch, afternoon glass of wine or celebratory dinner. The café side opens to the Chartres Street sidewalk, emulating a quintessential Parisian-street experience with daytime fare. The kitchen is led by James Beard Award Winning Chef & Owner Justin Devillier.

Lauren and Taylor provided exceptional service during our dinner. This was our best dining experience in New Orleans. Great food and lovely ambiance. Will definitely be back when we visit again.

This is my first time ever writing a negative review of a restaurant, and I definitely never thought it would be for one in NOLA. I’ve seen Justine on social media for so long and have always wanted to try it, so I was so excited to finally make it there for Sunday brunch. We arrived and were seated at a kind of awkward table in the middle of the walkway when there were several better tables/booths free. We didn’t ask to move because we assumed those seats were probably reserved, but the tables remained empty for the entirety of our time there. No biggie, just not ideal. I asked about the eggs Benedict that a coworker had recommended and was informed by the server that they weren’t doing their regular Sunday brunch because it was Valentine’s Day weekend. Understandable, I guess? I was apologetic to the rest of my party because I had been the one to suggest we get brunch there, but there was truly no way we could have known or predicted that they wouldn’t be doing their brunch menu that weekend. We got the baked cheese appetizer and were told that it doesn’t come with bread but is recommended that you get a side of bread with it. We did, and it was only $4 extra, but it was just bizarre that the bread was separate if that’s how the app is best enjoyed. The cheese and bread ended up being the tastiest part of the meal, I will say. I had the French onion soup which was such a disappointment. It was so watery and flavorless and tasted like it had been sitting out under a warming lamp. My partner had the Bloody Mary which he didn’t think was mixed well, and shrimp and grits which he said was “good but not $26 good” as there were only a few small shrimp in the dish. Due to how bad the rest of the meal was, our group decided to forego dessert and hit up Sucre instead. I know Justine is a beautiful restaurant but I’m honestly shocked they have been able to keep their doors open in the French quarter, which is surrounded by some of the best food in the world.

Came for dinner after the Krewe de Vieux parade. We were seated in the back which was a little loud, but fun. Love the mirrors on the walls so if you are facing the wall from your table you don’t feel isolated. Nicely decorated with tiled walls, old style chairs and murals, some of which are glass. Jazz was our waitress, and she was wonderful. Very friendly, attentive and professional. Enjoyed some very nice boiled shrimp as a starter. Then, for some reason, all four of us decided to try the burger. Glad we did. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked, 8 oz patty, tender and juicy, topped with gouda cheese. Came with gravy, which may have been for the French Fries, but we all enjoyed dipping our burgers into it. The sommelier recommend some very nice Beaujolais from Morton, which actually went quite well with our burgers. The fries were very tasty, as was the spinach and cheese side dish.

Burger and au poive sauce served COLD. Crispy pheasant app served COLD. Very disappointing experience. Lovely space and nice service that suffers from inexplicably poorly served food. Would not return.

Our burgers were terrific as a $24 burger should be. Cocktails well made and service attentive.
