Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. We checked already in Holland where we had to eat the best steak. Several websites mentioned Keens. You always hope that they are right. And they were.... The steak and wine were super and the service too. Applause for the chef and his team!

I've heard a lot about Keen's over the years, but this was my first time there, and it did not disappoint. Appetizer, entree, and dessert were all amazing. I had the 12oz Filet Mignon, and it was incredible!

NYC classic that's earned its reputation. Good atmosphere, exactly how a steakhouse should be set up. Service is spot-on. Good size portions. Food is prepared to your liking. Very good.

We were seated promptly even though the restaurant was completely packed our reservation was honored at the time we had it for 7:30pm . The food was excellent I Ordered the famous Mutton Chop, it was quite a large portion , Melissa my wife and best friend Ordered the king cut prime rib , and I do mean the King cut if you remember the Flintstones she got the brontosaurus steak . The waiter gave us a nice little tutorial about the pipes on the ceiling you have to go there to know what I am talking about . One drawback was that the waiter forgot to bring the coffee with the desert then when he did bring the coffee the desert which we had finished he charged us five dollars for one cup.

Authentic, unpretentious but with a sense of decorum and tradition: the genuine article and a New York fixture that I hope remains in place forever. Service is low key and efficient. Food is simple and direct and generally prepared exactly as requested, important for a steakhouse (as in rare vs. medium rare, etc.) Our favorite place in NYC, and fortunately we live only a few blocks away.
