Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Koya in Houston offers a vibrant ambiance with "amazing entertainment" and a "stunning" speakeasy vibe. While some guests rave about the Mac and cheese and wings, others note inconsistencies in service and food quality. Despite mixed reviews, the restaurant's unique atmosphere and "excellent" service from staff like Elijah and Carson make it a memorable spot.

Not a good experience. Upon arrival, no one greeted us. We didn’t know which way to go so we went to the speakeasy and was immediately hit with hookah fumes. So we went back out to the concierge desk and told her about our reservation. She was straight up with us and pretty much said don’t waste your time, the kitchens been backed up all day and everything is slow. So we left. That’s it. That’s our experience. Never again!

I made a reservation for 3 at 9:15pm. Never got seated. Waited an hour. Service was terrible. Ruined my birthday. The aesthetics are beautiful but the service was bad. Im so disappointed.

Very good service, and very clean dining area. The food was pretty good, just slightly bland, but good overall. It was nice and quiet at first, with a very peaceful, mysterious fancy vibe, and then they added disco lights and incredibly loud music that threw the vibe off entirely. Overall great experience!

Very expensive upcharge for entertainment and service!! I understand gratuity because nowadays gratuity is already included. But an entertainment fee and a service fee??! That’s excessive! There was only maybe 3 minutes of entertainment, literally!! Food was good and service was good. But other than that, I wouldn’t recommend…

The ambiance and decor is supreme. I really enjoyed the fire lady and the mix of music. Where I think the restaurant fell short was in the most important portion, the food area. Neither item that I ordered was tasty AT ALL. We started with lite bites and drinks and eww. The shrimp/rice dish was cold and flavorless. We decided to move forward with the entree and I ordered the Lobster Pasta and double eww. This dish was so OVER seasoned I couldn’t stomach it. The bill included the gratuity, which was earned and a small entertainment fee which was well deserved. But the food is not good and overpriced for sure.
