   An unmissable restaurant for steak lovers! The steak was high quality, cooked to perfection and tasted incredible! You’re offered a choice of steak knife and staff spend time explaining the different types of cuts of meat to assist you in ordering your perfect meal. We had an incredible experience here at Kyloe! Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful too. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!

   We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation, but thought we'd ask if the table was ready. It wasn't, but I noted there were lots of free tables I could see. When we came back 20 minutes later, we were taken to a table which I had seen empty 20 minutes before. It's a small thing - but other restaurants I've been to don't mind you turning up early if the table is ready. I think the concierge checked the computer and saw the table was technically booked until our time, but didn't bother to check the physical table. We ordered the Chateaubriand, which is a very lean cut (think long fillet steak), but this one had unexpected fat running through it. Priced at £72, it arrived medium at the waitress’s suggestion. The extra fat made it tougher to enjoy, we both had bites of steak that were just pure fat, which is VERY surprising for a Chateaubriand cut... The beef dripping chips felt more like elongated roast potatoes. They tasted fine, but they lacked the crisp bite you expect from proper chips. They were quite soft and 'dry' textured. The maple roasted carrots, on the other hand, were sweet and satisfying. Probably the best thing we were served(!) The Wagyu mac and cheese was good, but the cheese crust on top was bitter. It seemed like a variety of cheese that turns sharp under the grill. We’ve enjoyed chateaubriand many times at other steakhouses and never felt let down before. This time, it was disappointing enough to overshadow the rest of the meal. The carrots were the best part, but we left wishing the beef had matched our expectations. There were a few welcome additions to the experience, such as bread with truffle butter, and some small sweats with the bill - but that wasn't enough to make up for the expensive cut of meat which wasn't great. Unfortunately, we were really excited to try Kyloe, but we left quite disappointed. We don't usually leave negative reviews for restaurants, but just thought we'd share this honest opinion of our experience.

   10/10 recommend Kyloe for a Sunday roast or an excellent steak -- have been for both and will continue to return. Monica was our server and she was SO incredibly helpful. Her knowledge of the wine and pairing with our steak was incredible, as did she just go above and beyond to serve us. It was an incredible experience all around.

   Best rib eye steak I’ve ever had and cooked exactly to our specifications. The battered onion was amazing. A lovely touch of sweets and a message in white chocolate at the end to mark our anniversary. Ordered a taxi for us at the end of the meal.

   The entire period of time we spent at Kyloe from arrival to departure was excellent. Our waitress explained all the cuts of meats and gave us advice on shared starters. The steaks were all excellent.By chance, knowing South Africa, we ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and it was very very good. Unfortunately after starters and steaks, most of us declined dessert. Kyloe will certainly be our destination in the future for a major celebratory dinner

   Visited to celebrate my wifes birthday on 27th December. Kyloe never disapppoints. We were very well looked after and the food was brilliant. We had such a memorable afternoon. We always try and visit Kyloe when we are in Edinburgh and our latest visit has not changed that thinking. Would thoroughly recommend

   The music was a bit loud so it was not as relaxing as the previous time we went. The starters were delicious but the steaks were dry, overcooked and did not have a lot of flavour. The béarnaise sauce was very runny.
