   The atmosphere of this place is lovely. They really spent the money and some thought on the decor, lighting, etc. My only design concern is that when you dine here at night, the combination of the low lighting and the tiny, dark grey font on a beige background menu makes reading the menu difficult. The food is all top notch, and though the prices are a bit high, they are not that different than all the other fine dining establishments throughout the city. Our service was iffy. There were long lags between people checking in on us and we wanted an additional drink and to add to an order during those lags. And this was not just due to the fact that they were busy. Our waiter was chatting with a co-worker for much of the time we were hoping someone might ask us if we wanted dessert. We eventually flagged someone down, but it's preferable that we don't have to do so. I've been here other times when the service was fine, so this may be a one-time thing.

   We went to La Conessa for our anniversary and they treated us great! Would highly recommend. From food to overall vibe and price, La Conessa is a must. We will be going back soon! Thank you to the team for the special night

   Service was very disappointing. Our reservation was at 7:15 and we were promptly seated. Then it took 20 min to be greeted by a waiter and 30 minutes to get water. We were at our table for 45 minutes before we ordered and served wine (a sommelier was supposed to come over but was no where to be found so our waiter helped). Dishes were slow to come out with our last course arriving at 9:05p. Food was decent, bolognese was the best dish. I asked to speak with a manager and no one showed. Truly disappointing experience.

   The resturant has great ambience and vibes. Staff was friendly and timely. I wish there was an available table seating though I made reservations only bar top was available. The food was nicely portioned and delicious.

    With my holiday bonus, I wanted to treat my partner out to a new spot for date night. He actually works at UCSF down the road and he has been eyeing this restaurant for a while. The place is gorgeous, parking is easy to find, and the ambience is striking. The menu has enough options but not too much that it makes choosing an item a hassle. The extensive wine list was appreciated since my partner loves wine. They didn’t have the red wine that we chose, but the sommelier helped choose a similar one. In terms of the food, the pasta dishes were excellent, as well as the squid appetizer. The liver mousse was the best I’ve had in the city. The arancini could have been served a bit hotter since it was a bit cold, but the crunch and filling was excellent. The service staff was very attentive. Please don’t get me wrong, I would rather have attentive staff over staff that forgets that you’re even there. But pouring wine, refilling water, and asking how things are constantly was a little too much. One sip of water, and you have someone refilling it right away. It just cut the flow of conversation on an intimate date night to the point of forgetting what we were talking about because we would pause and thank the waiters every time. Maybe checking in once in a while or waiting until our wine or water cups are depleted before coming back to the table would be appreciated.
