   Lovely meal here as a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.

   Amazing good, professional staff and wonderful experience. Matteo is very observant, full of life and and provided all round fabulous service. He recommended different wine and dishes as the menu changes depending on what is fresh but we were not disappointed. Always trust the expert!

   Wonderful Christmas Lunch - food and wine were outstanding, and Matteo and his team did an incredible job making sure everyone in the restaurant had a special time!

   What a lovely time. We had a magnificent Christmas meal, the food was amazing Matteo brought laughter and genuine warmth. Thank you for the amazing Christmas meal.

   Anche se il pranzo ha coinciso con il giorno in cui si è verificato un inconveniente che ha messo fuori gioco lo chef, se la sono cavata egregiamente. Complimenti per il servizio molto attento.

   This is a gem. For sure there are plenty of great restaurants in Bologna but La Fatica proved well worth seeking out. It’s located on a quiet back street and has a charming vibe. The food was excellent. I had Tagliatelle with mushrooms and then Contrafiletto di Vitello. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms as good as they can be. The steak was grilled just right and came with oil and balsamico on a bed of ruccola. Yummy. The wine list had plenty of good options in the 25-30 Euro price range, I opted for a nice Refosco. Finally a note about the service. I think it was what set the place apart. Quick, attentive, professional and…should I call it personal? The best places in Italy can make you feel more like a guest than a customer. This is one of them.

   We have never had a dining experience quite like this. Our reservation was for 7:45 and we arrived on time. Service was prompt and our waitress very pleasant. The maitre d, however, seemed stressed and hustled us through dinner. We usually eat fairly quickly but really felt pressured. As coffee and dessert were being served, he essentially rushed us out stating he needed the table for the next service. We were out the door in less than an hour and a half - very atypical for a restaurant anywhere, especially in Italy.
