   Superb food as ever, great service too. Slightly chilly by the window and a table empty by the fire but we did book an hour and a half before going so May have been booked by someone else sooner

   For starters, we had prawn cocktail and grilled halloumi. The halloumi was delicious. The prawns had way too much sauce which drowned any other flavour - including that of the salad garnish which was a shame. For main course we had the hake (5 stars) and the pork belly (5 stars) . Apart from being beautifully cooked, everything was served piping hot. Very generous sides portions. If not for the prawn dish, it would have been a straight 5 stars. Staff and service were excellent - friendly and efficient at what was an extremely busy restaurant. I think we shall be using this place regularly.

   Despite being very busy, it wasn't cramped although it was very noisy to begin with. The starters were excellent, Mussel and Goats cheese salad. The mains were good but not exceptional The Dessert, Apple crumble and Custard was very good. Service was efficient despite being busy and staff were friendly and helpful. We also had an excellent bottle of Pouilly Fuisse!

   We brought friends for their first visit and it was as good as always for us and they loved it. We will be back of course and it sounds like they will too. Food great. Gluten Free choice excellent for my wife too.

    Exceptional meal tonight at La Flambé. Our first time visiting and I’ll 100% be back. I had the goats cheese and spinach croquettes, followed by the lamb. The starter was good but I’d like more of a goats cheese punch. The lamb however was incredible, I’ve attached a photo as the portion size was huge, but every element was so delicious. The key lime pie to finish was also so so good. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough, I really enjoyed it, and the service was fantastic.
