Experience modern, coastal Italian cuisine at Fort Lauderdale's newest hot spot, La Fuga. Chef Michael Mayer infuses local South Florida flavors with classic Italian staples to create a fusion of crave-worthy, contemporary dishes.

La Fuga, (Italian for "the escape,") is nestled in the heart of the Kimpton Shorebreak, named in homage to the location’s historic beginnings. The newly renovated Kimpton Shorebreak occupies a unique space in Fort Lauderdale, originally opened as The Escape Hotel in 1949.

La Fuga pays tribute to it's origin story in name and also in atmosphere. Featuring midcentury design, and a laid-back vibe, the indoor-outdoor dining room includes views of the hotel's scenic courtyard and provides access to a rooftop pool overlooking Fort Lauderdale’s intercoastal.

First time at la fuga and we really enjoyed it. Night we were there they had live music which consisted of a sax and bass player, nice touch and not too loud. Service staff was so pleasant and nobody rushed you. The outdoor seating area with the warming stations was well done and provided a fun place to sit. Food was really good, the dishes we hand you could tell were hand made just popped with flavor. Would recommend trying if in the area.

Nice spot with terrace, nice people serving. Food is disappointing. Bruschetta are dry bread slices with cold whole cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, no cheese or basil or any spices. I had the osso bucco risotto, there was nearly any meat, most of it was cartilage or grease and the risotto tasted nothing like risotto even if there was a sauce surrounding it. My partner had the swordfish, dry and comes with potatoes, nothing else. With 2 glasses of wine each, no dessert, over 200$ is way too much for what this meal was worth.

La Fuga was such a delightful experience for date night with my wife. We made just in time to have a happy hour cocktail at the bar, which also happened to coincide with live Latin Jazz night. Following our beverage, we sat at a table for two and were immediately greeted by Jonathan with exceptional service. We enjoyed a kale salad and beef carpaccio appetizer followed by a pasta dish. The service, food, and ambiance were exceptional and we will definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience on the patio at La Fuga! We chose this restaurant on our last day in Fort Lauderdale via Trip Advisor…the #1 restaurant in Fort Lauderdale! It did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Special thanks to Nair and her assistant for the impeccable service and experience!

Food was very good. Service was good, not great. We had a drip from the ceiling that dripped on us throughout dinner. We complained to the server and to the manager.....no accommodations were offered which was surprising and very disappointing.....our guests were upset and it ended up ruining our experience. We will not be returning.
