   We were a party of 4 with 1 being with a walker….the staff, though busy, was so kind to accommodate seating and storing his walker…. The food and atmosphere take us back to a time when soup and salad are included in the meal and entree choices were all Devine!! The Chateaubriand for 2 was fantastic and our guests had the rack of lamb, all excellent It’s important to note that when the owner is present and overseas her staff and kitchen it all runs like a well Oiled machine! We will continue to enjoy this wonderful restaurant in the future ❤️

   We decided to venture from Sonoma to sample this well-known French restaurant. Pros: Great service. Good portions AND dinner includes soup and salad, a rare find these days :) Food was good, not fantastic, but good. Cons: VERY crowded seating. We were seated in a main thoroughfare and it was quite annoying. This is not a 'comfortable' place -- not big spacing, no intimate bar area, and seating was very close together.

   Very good service. Highly recommended! Everyone in our party was more than pleased with their food selection and the bottle of wine was well chosen by our waiter. In short a most enjoyable evening.

   I had just arrived in Santa Rosa after a very long, uncomfortable flight and a slow drive from SFO during rush hour. I arrived at La Gary to unwind after such a long day of tedious travel. And it was a very pleasant experience! David, La Gare’s longtime waiter was quite skilled at helping me determine which entree was best for the kind of appetite I had; I selected the veal cordon bleu. It was absolutely wonderful: the veal was tender; the sauce well seasoned; and it just hit the spot. David was also very knowledgeable about the best wine to pair with the veal, and La Gare’s wine list is an A-list of fine Sonoma Valley wines. For dessert, David recommended the dome of chocolate, a decadent dessert that you just have to experience for yourself because it’s hard to describe. As I wrote on La Gare’s Facebook page, “if (the Dome) were any better, it would be illegal!” La Gare is on the high side of a restaurant meal, but the ambience, the quality food and wines, and its knowledgeable, attentive staff make for a truly worthwhile experience. I will definitely come back to La Gare the next time I’m in Sonoma.

   We haven’t been there for years. La Gar still has great quality food with excellent service. We definitely will go back.

   We’ve enjoyed many outstanding meals at La Gare over the years. However, our experience on Thanksgiving night was underwhelming. Although the waitstaff service was excellent, the kitchen seemed to be unprepared to handle the extra large number of covers that evening. We will definitely continue to dine at La Gare….but will probably avoid going on a holiday evening.

    The staff was wonderful taking care of so many with dignity and professionally. Prime Rib dinner was excellent.
