Poor service and terrible food made for a very upsetting meal. Servers were confused as to who was even taking our table. One server came by multiple times only to just walk away. It was all very confusing. Food took forever to come out. Everything we had lacked any flavor or seasoning. Luckily the bread service came with salt to add to the bland food we received. Entrees were lukewarm but steaming which leads me to believe it was microwaved on the fly. They made up for everything by removing the entrees but they can never give back my time. So many better French restaurants in this city that aren’t just all for show and know how to season their food. This is in the top 5 worst meals I’ve ever had in my life. You’re better off eating at a TGI Fridays

Bad service wrecked it for us. We were really looking forward to it, and the server was friendly. But he disappeared on us. Very slow. I doubt that we will be back. Dave Ricordati

La Grande Boucherie should be embarrassed to call themselves a French restaurant. French food has incredible depth of flavor, which can be achieved by just about any decent home chef. You won’t find much flavor here, though. My spouse and I ordered two different cocktails (a sazerac and an old fashioned), but they both tasted the same— common denominator was Lavender simple, so they must have used too much, or it just wasn’t balanced at all. Our escargot did not have even one flake of salt in it. I had to season them at the table, but of course that wasn’t good enough because the best part of escargot is that when they’re baked they absorb the flavors of the butter. My spouse was happy with the filet ai poivre but my seabass bouillabaisse was an abomination. The sauce appeared to be a very thin white clam sauce with very little flavor. I highly doubt there was any saffron in it, as there was no golden color at all. Go to La Grande Boucherie if you hate French food and wish it had less flavor. Otherwise, if you’re a true Francophile, avoid it at all costs!

Half of our order forgotten by the kitchen or the waiter, the items that arrived were cold. Service was mediocre at best.

Way over rated. Too many tables, staff was very hectic. 3 of 5 entrees were luke warm to cold. Steaks were below average. There are 50+ better places in Chicago to have a steak.

Amazing food and a beautiful place to eat! The steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were a pleasant surprise on the side. The wait staff was very nice and attentive and gave great recommendations. Would recommend to anybody!

Typically a great experience but the escargot was terribly bland. It was very cold near the window. Just a mediocre experience

I live nearby this restaurant . I went there twice , once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times myself and my guest were impressed by the high quality of food, exceptional service ( you can take your time to decide what to order - nobody is breathing on your neck ), the ambience is classy - in summary - I had a great time and will be back many times for sure ! Highly recommended.
