The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. What a gem of a restaurant. Service was on point. Food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The half price wine by the bottle was a nice perk. We will definitely return the next time we're in D.C.

This was our third visit. Christian O was by far the best server we have had. We will definitely be back and will ask for him. Hostess seem to have a bad attitude when we asked to be seated in a better area. She sat us in the back table by the kitchen.

From the moment you entered the door, everything was top tier. Our service was top notch. Recommendations we're on point. Danielle the manager was extremely friendly and welcoming and made our dinner amazing. From the warm bread all the to the amazing desserts, everything was 10/10 experience.

From the moment I walked into La Grande Boucherie, I felt like I could breathe. The space is beautiful and open—it immediately puts you at ease. The host greeted me with such warmth and attentiveness that I knew I was in for a good night.
I started with the meat tartare, which was super flavorful and fresh. But the highlight of the night was definitely the entrecôte—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. I ended the meal with a crème brûlée that was so good, I didn’t even stop to take a picture before diving in.
A big shoutout to my waiter, Christian—he was amazing. Super knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations that made the whole experience even better.
Can’t wait to go back!

Took my parents to La Grande Boucherie for the first time and can’t say this enough, our servers were amazing !! Thank YOU to Kelvin and Travis for taking care of us today. They both were so patient and super friendly to us. We felt at home here and thought the food was amazing, especially the desert. We will be coming back because of them. I had high expectations for my second visit to La Grande Boucherie after an absolutely stellar first experience. The first time I dined here, everything was perfect—the service, the food, and the atmosphere were all exceptional, and I couldn’t wait to return. Unfortunately, my brunch reservation yesterday for a party of 8 left me feeling deeply disappointed.
To start, there was some confusion with our seating due to changes in our party size (from 8 to 6 and back to 8), and while it took a while to get seated even with reservations, I understand they were busy, so that wasn’t a major issue. The space itself remains as grand and beautiful as ever, but the service we received this time was shockingly poor.
Our waiter was, without exaggeration, the worst I have ever encountered. He lacked any semblance of personality and acted as though we were inconveniencing him by simply being there. Every question we asked was met with attitude, and at one point, he made an unfunny and inappropriate joke: “Would you like me to go get your car too?” It felt dismissive and unprofessional.
We ordered bottomless mimosas, but instead of attentive service, we found ourselves staring at empty glasses far too often. We had to call him over multiple times just to get refills, which clearly annoyed him further. His demeanor soured the entire experience for everyone in our group.
The bill came to nearly $600, and while I am typically a very generous tipper (I would have normally left $120), I felt compelled to tip only $12, a decision I’ve never made before, just to reflect how unacceptable the service was.
All in all, this visit was a huge letdown. While I loved my first experience here, this brunch has made me question whether I’ll return. A restaurant of this caliber should deliver consistent service, and yesterday’s experience fell far short of expectations.
