    Our favorite place to go in the city. Food is always amazing, servers have great recommendations and the quality of the food is outstanding. The ceviche is always fresh and the leche de tigre is my favorite. My wife and I celebrate our anniversary here and they always give us a dessert and this time they took a polaroid of us as a memory. Managers always check in to see how you’re doing and the servers are quick and friendly. Definitely need a reservation because this place is packed no matter what day it is, and the 5 stars is well deserved! Thank you La Mar!

    The waitstaff was excellent, and our server Abimael was excellent and very attentive! The manager (he is from France, was his name Jonathan?) was so personable and came by our table to check on us and chat several times! We appreciated his attention! We couldn’t have had a better 37th anniversary!

    Everything at the restaurant was outstanding! The food, the wait staff,.....all excellent and friendly. Of course, it's in the heart of San Francisco on the Embarcadero, which means parking challenges. May I suggest just biting the bullet and parking at 201 Embarcadero across the street, instead of circling the area for 30 minutes looking for available street parking? You'll pay about $25, but you'll save yourself a world of pain. AND you'll arrive at La Mar relaxed and ready to enjoy a wonderful culinary experience.

    A friend had eaten at La Mar for a work event and suggested we go when I visited SF. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful with sweeping views of the bay, if you reserve a table in the rear two rooms (which I will do next time). The food was fabulous. We shared the Berenjena Criolla and Arroz con Mariscos. Both were excellent, with surprising combinations of ingredients and textures that were well executed. We ended with the Tapioca Tropical. I have never liked tapioca but I tried it since everything else was so good. Who knew tapioca can leave you wanting more.?! A great dining experience which I look forward to repeating on my next trip to SF.
