We were there recently for dinner and although the restaurant and staff were excellent, there were issues generally with the menu. There are no bottles of wine less than $60, which is a bit high. The problem with the mains is that they are not served with any vegetables or salad. In the case of the tenderloin, you just get a plate of meat and nothing else. The Thai chicken curry comes with three small spoonfuls of cold rice. If you want any vegetables you have to order them as an add on and they are not inexpensive. The appetizers are also very small portions. The food was tasty but the portions are small. They need to re-think their prices as this restaurant is not good value for money. Dinner for 3 with wine was close to $300. I would go back, but not at these prices.

Long waiting time for food, price is not reasonable for that small portion sizes, taste is just average. The only impressive thing is the interior design, pretty much like Shanghai in 1930s.

Stuff there is really nice. and the environment is really good . But the afternoon tea itself is not really professional. The scone doesn’t come with butter or jam. And for the tea we have to ask for the milk and sugar. The croissant and the desserts are taste like store-bought. The tea will lost it taste after the second round. For the afternoon tea we won’t come back again. It’s on the third floor I heard they will be entertaining performance every Friday night I would like to try that out someday.

Super fun fine dining restaurant with great live music on the Saturday evening we were there. Menu is curated, and some things were not available, but I am sure they will hit their groove soon.

The restaurant is in a 70 years old house with beautiful chandeliers. Love the decor, romantic atmosphere . There is a jazz band which is very impressive. The owner is a young guy who is very friendly.

All in all - a very nice meal - tasty and with some interesting twists on some traditional Asian dishes. The server was attentive and pleasant and we saw a lot of the manager and owner(s) tending to operations making sure all was to our satisfaction. The building is interesting as well and has two individual dining areas themed slightly different and notably, a really cool cabaret venue (which was not performing that night) but is enticing us to come back and enjoy that experience at La Nuit Shanghai. A fun night out.

Staff was excellent and very attentive. They noted that it was my birthday and did their best to make our evening special. However, I was very disappointed with the food. In this price range I would expect the food to be virtually flawless, however we found that both our appetizers and mains were cold and the duck was dry and tough. I may go back again with the hope that they find their footing and improve the food quality since they are still new but I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.
