   We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated. Our server arrived after 5 minutes for less than one minute and left after taking only 1/2 the drink orders. We never saw her again for about 25 minutes at which time she brought the wrong drink order. She was told that she needed to step up her level of service to which she said she would. Our salads arrived quickly after that and our entrees shortly thereafter. One of the orders had to be sent back as it was cooked to beyond well done when rare had been ordered. The manager brought a new steak out which was perfect. The food was perfect and very tasty but the 20 minute wait to settle the bill was off putting. Great food but the service needs to be improved. Having said that, our server was very nice and polite, just not as attentive as would be expected.

   Great food and service. Shrimp scampi toast appetizer and unique bread crumb Caesar salad exceptionally unique. Chocolate mousse desert a nice ending.

   Dinner with our of town friends was the occasion. As always, the food was fabulous (we had the special Chilean sea bass, the ribeye, and the scallops). There is something special about the restaurant from the moment you hear the waterfall, and the space is lovely. As we get older the noise level has become a bit challenging, and the wait staff seemed a bit overstretched, but I will always have a dinner at Cliffhouse when I am in town.

   We were warmly welcomed by the hostess, wished a Happy Anniversary and promptly seated. Our waiter, Eric, took drink orders and water and bread magically appeared. Our margaritas (spicy and regular) were great, no skimping on the alcohol. We ordered the lobster bisque and green salad - both were delicious. Perfect temperature for the soup; would have liked a few more pieces of lobster. I ordered the seared scallops and they were perfectly cooked. They sat on parsnip purée and had leeks and mushrooms. Scallops are naturally sweet, so the sweet parsnip purée and sweet leeks was off putting. I’d recommend another pairing for the scallops. My wife ordered the filet (perfect medium rare) that was accompanied with the potatoes au Gratin and carrots - she loved both. We were given a complimentary dessert, but did not get to choose. It was a dark chocolate tart that was mediocre. It would have been nice to make a dessert choice - we weren’t even offered the desert menu. Overall it was a lovely dinner for our anniversary and we will be back.

   My second visit here in 6 years. The outdoors ambience is unique, which is where I st the first time. This visit was indoors. The ambiance is very dated ! Unfortunately it was too cold too sit outdoors. They definitely need a huge facelift for the interior dining. The food was delicious, but the serving size was very small especially for the price we paid for our meals. None of our entrees were under $50….this will probably be the last time I’ll dine here. The waitstaff brought us our appetizer and set it right down on my menu!! The table for 4 was too small to accommodate the bread, wine and water glasses plus appetizers:-( then we all ordered salads and soup, hardly enough room, as they weren’t efficient in removing plates from the finished appetizers. Overall it was a 3 rating.

   Food was delicious. Service a little slow, especially getting initial beverages. Our request for seating was granted, which was very nice. Ambiance seemed a little more chaotic than normal but recognized there was some new staff training going on. Overall, lively evening and we will be back.
