   Generally a wonderful experience, tonight however, was not that. Service was exceptionally slow. We waited an hour for our main courses. Other tables came and went and we still hadn't received our order. The sides were cold.

   Our server was not particularly friendly or helpful or efficient. My husband and I shared the portobello mushroom appetizer, which was tasty, but the lasagna was just so-so. With so many wonderful restaurants in Puerto Vallarta to choose from, La Traviatta will not be one we visit again..

   La Traviata is close to our condo and we’d heard good comments about it from friends but hadn’t given it a try. They were right - our first dinner was great and the view at sunset from the restaurant’s rooftop dining room was wonderful. Menu offers lots of choices and the pasta carbonara, pollo puttanesca and ribeye steak were all excellent as well as reasonably priced. Credit cards - even Amex- were accepted. Margaritas were not weak. We’ll be back!

    I hate to say this, but the food was plain not good. It was bland, and I needed salt on my fettuccine with meat sauce. The meat tastes different in Mexico. Everything tastes different than what I am familiar with. I accept that food is different outside of the USA, and it is what it is, but my honest review is that the food is just not to my taste...therefore it's not good. The ambiance was great, the service was great, the view was great, and the pricing was super affordable (compared to earing out in the USA/ Westcoast). Come here for ambiance but not the food... most of the food is not great in Mexico, so try to find the best food you can.
