   Recommended by a coworker. Arrived on a Thursday evening. Apparently, this is karaoke night. No hostess to sit you. You really don't need reservations, because no one asked for one. We sat under the heated tented because the other side of the restaurant (bar and high tops) was reserved for karaoke. Extremely loud and food was just sub average. Skirt steak and halibut were over cooked and lacked flavor. Risotto tasted like paste. Btw, you cannot substitute your entree. For $200 and 20% gratuity included, I think there are better options in NJ. Not sure if karaoke ruined the experience or the lack of service or food altogether. Will not return.

   It was Valentine’s Day 2/14/25, my partner and I have been dying to try this restaurant to only be welcomed to a 3 hour wait time for our entrees. I understand that it was busy and a lot going on that specific occasion, however we had reservations for 8:30pm and didn’t get our food till 11:24pm about. We saw people who were there after us that received their food while we waited for ours. Our waiter explained to us that they make the ‘easier’ foods first, but that’s not fair. On top of that all I got was stuffed shrimp which is considered an easy dish and my partner had got a certain steak, but it doesn’t take 3 hours to make a medium well steak. It wasn’t the waiters fault he did his best and even offered us a free item for the long wait we had which the manager watching us from a distance couldn’t even offer it to us himself. I never thought I would spend my Valentine’s Day night in a restaurant corner with my partner. We had plans to go out after and couldn’t even make it because of this. I don’t know if we would ever come back here again or recommend it to anyone that is interested. This was definitely a night to remember.

   almost 2 hours to get our food, we understand it was valentines day but poor planning on the restaurant for taking so many reservations and not enough staffing, turned us off so bad we will never go back

   Food was very good. Main dining room was nice and spread out. Music was a little loud. Only complaint was we went on Valentine’s Day and they were extremely shortstaffed and it took over an hour and a half to get our dinner. I believe they should have given us a heads up that they were running behind instead of constantly saying the food’s coming the food‘s coming.

   This was our first experience at this restaurant, Lagar, and we will make it one of our regulars. We were warmly welcomed on a quiet Tuesday night. Our waiter John was personable and attentive. The food was delicious. We will be back soon, thank you very much!

   We celebrated my 68th birthday here at Lagar. I had driven by a few times and it looked so festive that I chose to dine here for my birthday. I was not disappointed! Most people were dining on the patio but we went to the dining room where we had it to ourselves. The patio was livelier but I wanted a more intimate setting. The Christmas tree was tastefully decorated as well as the room. Now of course to the food: Delicious, plentiful with perfect sides. My steak was done to my specifications and perfect. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, I give Lagar my highest compliments!

   We came tonight to celebrate Christmas with the girls very impressed with the service. The food was delicious and the restaurant was decorated so festively for the holidays. We’ve already booked Valentine’s Day to come back with our husband’s. We loved it very pleased.

    Everything was amazing, the service, the food was delicious and the restaurant is fun and well decorated. My only suggestion is that the live music start a little later. The musician was very good, but the music was too loud, our reservation was at 6:15pm
