From the OpenTable editors: When Le Pigeon opened in 2006, it put Portland on the culinary map. The best seats in the intimate, brick-walled dining room are at the chef’s counter, where you’ll get a front row view of multi-James Beard Award-winner Gabriel Rucker’s dazzling, French-forward dishes. Cap the evening with playful desserts that could include foie gras profiteroles or a glass from the luscious Oregon- and French-centric wine list.

We’ve dined all over the US and in Europe and this was hands down the most delicious and unique tasting experiences. So many memories made.

Always such a treat. This is Portland's best French restaurant, hands down. Dishes are made with flair, impeccable technique, and always delicious farm to table cooking. That said we did think the vegetarian tasting menu was the stronger of the two; several of the protein dishes were a little underwhelming (e.g. beef carpaccio). We opted to forgo the optional sixth course of each menu; portions are very generous, you will not leave hungry... Btw, don't skimp on the wine pairings! The reserve pairing is a splurge but well worth it. And perhaps best of all, the flawless service and pacing (hat tip: Chris). Just a delightful meal, start to finish. Thank you.

This is the fine dining experience we have been going to since we came to PDX 11 years ago. It rarely disappoints and by that I mean that I only remember one dish that I haven't enjoyed over the that span. We like sitting at the bar because the chefs are always willing to talk and share their knowledge. The staff is very well informed on what they are serving and are also very engaged in the experience. This place is dining perfection in our eyes.
