Leo’s was first opened in 1948 by Italian immigrants Pantaleone (Leo) Mancieri and his wife Virginia (Nonni). Established mainly as a pizzeria in the State Street section of Bristol, the restaurant quickly gained a local following and served as a popular lunch destination for workers and families alike. Leo and Virginia, along with sons Mario and Reno, worked tirelessly to produce great fresh Italian favorites and create a friendly environment for their customers.
The original Leo’s remained open until 1976 when the family decided to close after Leo passes away, and in the year 2000 Leo’s grandson, Paul Mancieri, relocated to 365 Hope Street in the heart of historic downtown Bristol. Paul and his wife Adriana pride themselves on bringing back the spirit and the recipes of the pizzeria ran by Leo and Nonni. Welcome to Leo’s Ristorante! Enjoy our family recipes, preserved for three generations and plated with care and love by Paul, Adriana and their staff.

Nothing special. Every meal at our table for 7 was average at best. Very small drink portions. Likely Not to return.

Always a great experience here. I think the food quality is the best Italian, in the area, and the prices very reasonable. We love this place.

We awaited for 10 minutes to be seated despite the restaurant being open with other guests seated and eating at tables and having a 4:30 reservation. While being told by 5 different staff members that someone would be with us, no one sought the hostess who was not present. After asking to use the rest room, I saw the hostess and told her we'd been waiting to be seated for a long time. Our server Ryan was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. Not sure we'll be back as there are numerous eateries in Bristol with better customer service.
    Leo's RistoranteResponded on 27 October 2024
Our apologies for making you wait to be seated. We were short staffed that day and the hostess was also taking care of the takeout, which is not the usual situation and caused some delays. We are glad that Ryan was attentive and we would really like you to consider giving us another chance and come dine with us again.,

Visited Bristol for RWU's homecoming weekend and wanted to take our daughter out for lunch. She suggested Leo's since she'd been with her boyfriend and they'd enjoyed their meal there. It was a great suggestion and a great choice! We'll definitely be back! We arrived right at opening time on a Sat. afternoon and were seated at a cozy corner table in the window so we got to overlook Hope Street's quaint views and the gorgeous sunny day we were fortunate to be having. Our server was attentive but not bothersome. The drinks and food came quickly. I had a nice chocolate raspberry martini. And my Super Mario burger was cooked perfectly, fresh roll, lettuce & tomato, nicely seasoned burger. The house made chips I got with it were fabulous and plentiful! I had more than enough for myself and still lots to share with my daughter and husband. She enjoyed them along with her pizza, and he along with his linguini and white clam sauce. Those dishes were also plentiful enough portions that they had leftovers to take home with them. I'm glad to have visited Leo's and look forward to going back again on our next trip to Bristol!

Leo’s booked based on #1 Trip Advisor rating. Big mistake. Arancini over cooked and flavorless; mushy, gooey garlic bread lacked garlic flavor; scampi pasta mushy. Inedible gritty clam sauce sent back. Maitre’d claimed “personally poured over dish in the kitchen, found no problem” and offered to return it. Really?! Terrible service. One order for group never entered. We had to call waiter over to ask where this order was. Forgotten dinner not expedited so served when others had finished. No consideration for error. Worst attitude towards customers ever experienced. Never again. Later locals said much better options in Bristol.

Dining at Leo’s is always a delectable experience. The food is delicious, the servers are professional and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Last night’s meal of chicken Parmesan was delicious…. Crispy and flavorful. Well worth the hour drive to Bristol! 😊
