   This is hard! The food is great, the wine list is impeccable (when it's available), however the service and ambience is terrible. I booked for an anniversary dinner, I was asked to put the occasion in the booking and yet despite a relatively empty restaurant you sat us down near the toilet next to a family. Why???? It's also very hot in the restaurant, I'm guessing owing to the open kitchen but it's actually very uncomfortable. Your wait staff are obviously untrained, and the music was honestly the worst. Why am I eating a beautiful steak dinner on a romantic occasion listening to bon jovi, Aerosmith and guns n roses? Again, good and drink is fab (seriously the salad is the best), prices are agreeable. But it's not a place for a date or to celebrate a special occasion. Devo the bike marrow was cooked with a blow torch rather than on the grill.

   The bistro has a very limited menu but we didn't mind as we came for the steak and frittes. The food arrived to perfection. Yhe steak was one of the most tasty I have had in years. The ambience was great and service excellent!

   The service was brilliant, the wine was good, the fries were good the steak was horrible- even when cooked as requested the meat was extremely low quality which the cook had no chance of making good (one of the steaks were mostly raw)

   Had a lovely evening, really cool place, delicious food and awesome service from all the lovely wait staff. Just wish all the wonderful black & white photos of days gone by were lower down on the walls so that I could see them better….some amazing images captured, if only those walls could talk.

   Service was initially terrible, food came out and we were still waiting for drinks. Had to ask another waitress to retrieve a bottle of wine off the shelf and some glasses. Four of the five meals were perfect but the fifth piece of meat was off and totally inedible. Value for money would have been good had we been compensated for the one bad meal with a refund on that one but had to haggle and finally got a drink price taken off.

   It was very hot in the restaurant. (Middle of summer) Food is rather good and service is excellent.

   Definitely upgrade to the premium steak option. The non premium was mostly fat

   Not as good as it used to be. Been here a few times and they used to come round with the bottomless bowl of fries to top you up as often as you liked. Sadly that was missing this last visit. Also didn't get the fresh bread that used to be provided, and is still mentioned on the menu. Staff that sat us offered tap or sparkling water which she never came back with and we never did get asked if we'd like more drinks during the meal. The online booking allowed us to note this was an anniversary dinner however this wasn't even acknowledged by the staff so not sure why that is even suggested. The steak was great as usual and the venue is unique but the service and standards that seem to have slipped don't make this venue stand out as an option any more than the local pub meal.
