The choice was very limited (perhaps owing to Covid restrictions) but the price points seemed extremely high. I don't think that charging nearly £20 for a vegetarian haggis dish is reasonable at all, and I avoided paying £8 for a butternut squash soup starter because how on earth could they justify that price? The ambiance wasn't ideal for an evening meal as the lights were quite bright, but it was nice to have music playing in the background. It wasn't clear whether our meal was being charged to our room or if we needed to pay before leaving the dining room. The online menu wasn't updated ahead of our booking and it would have been nice to know that there would be such limited choice.

The food was good but over priced. Also few of the paired wines were available.

Having read amazing reviews about this place we were excited to visit whilst staying in Fort Williams, I have to say I was disappointed overall. To say the restaurant falls into the fine dining category for it was missing the finer touches that would take it from good to great. Don't get me wrong the food was good, it was tasty, fresh and generally presented well. On our visit it was the service that let experience down, the waiting staff were constantly running around at what felt like 100mph which made the place feels frantic and out of control. Every time someone came to the table it was rushed, drinks were plonked down or flood was flung at us. It really did make the experience once I wouldn't rush back to. I hope it was just a bad day.

lovely restaurant with the art for saleon the wall very good and imaginative use of the space, and your time added to the experience, the service was excellent the food not quite so good the starters were good my mains which was blade of beef was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was proper skillful but chef, with beef and mash potato it needed more of that beautiful sauce the desert wich was the choux with chocolate and ice cream was frankly amateur icould have done better myself overall it was a good evening the food was good but not withstanding my few but i hope constructive critisisms i do not want anyone to be put off trying the lime tree as it has some very good points

Our waitress was a young foreign lady. She was hopeless. She clearly had received little or no training and had no idea how to serve. Almost everything she did was wrong. It completely spoilt our experience. The prices were far too high for the food and service. £18.00 for Venison sausage, mash and sauerkraut !!!!!

We visited at the end of service on a very busy evening and had to wait 20 minutes for a table partly due to extra cleaning protocols Once we got to our table the service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious
