Little Bull is sincere, nostalgic comfort food, inspired by the palates of first-generation immigrant kids.

Pocho cuisine is not a gimmick. Like Oscar, it’s a little bull-headed, but with no bullshit. It means more than loaded terms like “New American” or “modern Mexican.” And it’s authentic to Chef’s personal experience.

“American food is undefined. But it’s been designated to certain ideas and people. It’s actually evolving, as much as our landscape is a melting pot. As much as my own identity as a first-generation American and chef.”

Pocho started as a term used by people in Mexico to poke fun at the “American” kids who speak Spanglish. At Little Bull, pocho cuisine showcases the evolution of being a chef in America, inspired by every immigrant and their growing influence on our food.

    My first visit to Little Bull last evening was truly a standout dining experience. Loved each one of 6 small plates and saw exciting creativity in every dish. Recommend getting there early, before the room noise level ramps up.

    One of favorites! Everyone of the shared plates was excellent and beautifully prepared. Service and menu knowledge was great. Love the drinks here as well!

    Lovely menu selections + good service. A few oddities - the wine pours were very inconsistent in size first one was very small send super large, plus they kept running out of the red wines by the glass which was frustrating. The food was great, tapas yet decent portions and quality was good. One note was the tuna handroll, it had a very very small portion of tuna vs. rice, so more rice than anything so I wouldn’t order that dish again. Overall very good vibe, stellar service and top food quality which will bring me back.

    Absolutely iconic spread of food and fabulous service. The chicken is to die for. We also loved our veggie and fish dishes. Tuna crudo and broccolini were as much highlights as the cocktails and birria dumplings. It’s always a pleasure to come to Little Bull!

    Absolutely superb experience at Little Bull - menu was inventive, and it was difficult to decide which dishes to order. They arrived beautifully plated and each one we chose was excellent! Very well cooked, flavorful, served at just the right temperature to dive right in. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.

    Don’t sleep on the French toast. For an order for the “table” and we looked around the table at first bite and all said “wow”!

    We’ve been here several times now. Hands down one of the best places in Durham. Food and drinks are inventive and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
