While the service was good, the afternoon tea itself was not up to standard. The savories were extremely petite, no more than a nibble. There were so few savories as well, we had to order extra food to even feel like we ate something. They were also lacking in flavor and not the right temperature for an afternoon tea. The cabbage roll was so cold, a harsh contrast to the hot tea. The sweets were good, but significantly outnumbered the savories. The tea itself was okay but not strong at all- despite steeping for a long time, each pour was fairly weak. I would not recommend afternoon tea for this price at the Shang ri La ever.

Delightful tea, loved the ingenuity of the menu (accommodating dietary needs), piano player and proximity to the fireplace. Attentive service. We were seated a bit too close to a loud talker but outside of your control!

By far the most inventive and delicious menu for tea in Toronto. Bar setup makes service challenging for the servers who have to crouch down on the floor to place a lot of dishes on very small tables. Service may be slow, but afternoon tea is not something you want to rush. Overall, just the best.

We had a reservation at Lobby Lounge two weeks ago for 10:30 pm after a dinner out for our anniversary. When we arrived a little early they gave us a table right by the band who were fantastic. The atmosphere and vibe was fun and very relaxed but not the over the top by any means. Not to mention they also know how to make a good drink! Overall, it’s very enjoyable lounge to relax and hear some good music along with excellent drinks and service.

We went for the Signature Afternoon Tea. Everything was beautiful from the tea service to the decor to the food itself. The servers were amazing and did an excellent job of explaining every type of tea as well as all of the courses. This is not your typical English tea as it has an Asian inspired twist. Every last thing we ate was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced in flavour. We loved this meal and will happily return. It is a pricy experience but here is a true case where you get what you pay for and it’s worth every penny

I had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We arrived at 2pm and I was told that there wasn’t enough food for my party of 16. I was told that someone reached out to me to update the details of the reservation but I had received no such call or message - then I was told a message was left on open table but who checks open table. We didn’t even get a drink or tea until 340. The service was beyond horrible, I had to bed for refills of Prosecco and we didn’t get any water despite asking throughout the entire meal. The manager and staff were rude and confrontational. The food was mediocre, we were served cheddar chive scones with jam! There were not even plain scones - I was told there were sold out for the high tea. And then when the bill came an automatic gratuity was added for a service that was not provided. I am so upset and will never plan a high tea here again and never recommend the Shangri La to anyone else .
