   Had amazing family dinner here in November. Booked Saturday night as visiting girls again at uni. Also, it was my husband’s birthday which I noted in our res. Place very quiet which is typical in Montreal winter! Fish cake starter was excellent. Mushroom toast not as good as last time. Squash soup special probably the best thing we ate. Their menu is not consistent with their web site menu nor open table menu. They now have an “autumn salad” as a starter for $24. This used to be a burrata salad. This salad was a joke. Small bowl With greens and couldn’t find the ingredients listed in menu. Server said well it is an “app”. Sure. But for $24 get real … they did reduce the price to $16 which was still too high for what this was. Beef tagliatelle is vg but the portion is the size of a very small fist. For $35. It’s like a half order or an app. Add more pasta if not more meat and put in a proper sized bowl for a main. The fries were cooked in a dirty fryer given their color and texture. They were $12. Web site says $6. Open table says $10 … Ordered my husband desert and had asked for a candle in res note. Nope. And we paid for the dessert. Which on a $350 meal isn’t much, but would have been nice. As last time, we were each given a tiny shot of espresso with galliano. That is a nice touch. Shout out to the lovely young woman filling water and clearing plates. She was very pleasant and. Real gem. While we wanted to love this place again, all of the little things added up and we won’t return.

   We had an amazing New Year’s eve dinner. The food and the service were outstanding. The menu was carefully thought, the dishes were very tasty and portions were just right. The staff was also very understanding of our young kids and babies. Thank you for welcoming our family and making our New Year’s eve dinner an unforgettable one. We will be back!

   Loved everything about this place. Was warm and welcoming on a cold and rainy night. Want service and delicious food. Loved the NY strip, chicken liver, oysters, the wine and the sticky toffee pudding. Will visit whenever we are in Montreal.

   This was one of the best meals we have ever had. The service was excellent. We had cocktails, the bone marrow, schnitzel and steak. We will be back!

    This was my second time at L'Orignal, but it was the first time I brought my family and it was everything I could have hoped! The staff were wonderful, the food was amazing, and I am already looking forward to my next visit! Highly recommend.
