In 1835, the Bofarull family founded one of the most charismatic restaurants in the city, Can Bofarull, in the most emblematic part of the Gothic District, near Las Ramblas in Barcelona. Nice and authentic restaurant. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the table. Cool experience! Good was delicious!

This is an unmissable experience. There are multiple dining areas in this historic building. Fascinating looking at the pictures of celebrities who have visited the restaurant. One of our group had the signature soup and loved it. We all found something delicious to order. Great ambiance, friendly service and inspired menu.

Great place in history and for that I’ll pay the higher prices but those prices are not reflected in the flavor of the food. I ordered the Bouilibase as it’s been on the menu since the 50’s. That should have been my first clue. Food has evolved since then and this dish has not. The stock was bland at best and portion of actual seafood was minimal but they gave you a gallon of the stock. My sister had their roasted chicken which was very good. I am still glad we went but for the money there are so many better place to go.

The ambiance is super special being one of the oldest restaurants in Barcelona. Service was exceptional with lots of delish choices on the menu.

Very “old school” + very fresh seafood! Old, charming warren of dining rooms. Excellent oysters w caviar, excellent chicken & seafood paella. Wonderful friendly staff. Reasonably priced.
