Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

    Food was good overall But fried rice dish was dry and bland. Tried to order dessert but was informed that kitchen was closed! Should have been informed of this in advance!!

    We were so excited to try this place but were pretty disappointed. The food was interesting but not really satisfying and way overpriced. So many things on menu are deep fried. The service was super slow…our server took a really long time to get to our table and take our order. We also paid $20 for just water! Lastly, I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and they never so much as said happy birthday. They talked up the sticky rice desert so we ordered it but then they came back to tell us it was sold out. Won’t be going back.

    We eat dinner for my youngest daughter’s 21st Birthday. The food was exquisite and the service impeccable. Can’t wait to come back. ✌🏾💙🙏🏽

    Solid Thai place. All the food was good. Only thing we found that was particularly amazing was the fried garlic prawns. However, the number of prawns we actually got was quite limited especially given the price. We got so many empty shells, which was disappointing. The portions were decently sized, but could have added more of certain things like the Penang curry had no veggies and the pad see you had little noodles.

    This place is awesome! The food is great, and the service was exceptional too. Just about everything on the menu looked great and tried out a couple of different dishes recommended by our waitress. I don't live in Vegas, but every time I visit the city, I have to make reservations to dine here. A must try if you haven't been.
