Lucca Osteria & Bar is the vision of chef and veteran restaurateur, Claudio Ulivieri and his partner Steven Hartenstein. Raised near the Italian city of Lucca, Claudio’s passion for food began. He brought this passion to the States, and started his culinary career as a chef. Now, after decades of creating menus and running restaurants, he and his partner have opened Lucca Osteria - tapping into his roots - to share his favorite rustic Italian flavors with you.     Back corner table next to an extremely loud table. We were there for my daughter’s 23rd birthday. Waitress was not friendly & would not accept pictures of her license, passport & birth certificate to serve my daughter when she realized she forgot her wallet. Then when my daughter ordered a MOCKTAIL also would not serve her one. I wanted to leave but she really wanted the shrimp rav. Food was delicious but that woman ruined my girls birthday dinner. Will be tough to return after that.

    Lucca will never disappoint. Service is always great, and the food is outstanding! Every time we’ve dined here, I’m always amazed how friendly the staff is, not to mention managers and owners walking around insuring that we’re happy. Don’t pass on this gem.

    Yesterday the food was not prepared well. Too oily, salty and just not at all the authentically Italian experience i have had here before. The drinks were too sugary. Quality was just not there…

    Outstanding experience once again! Lovely hostess seated us immediately at our reservation time. Our food was utterly delicious, eggplant Parmesan and beef carpaccio, finished with a coconut sorbet to die for. Servers were attentive but not intrusive. Stephen and John went table to table greeting everyone warmly. A true standout in the crowded Oakbrook restaurant scene! Can’t wait to go back!

    Deanna was the best server! She was patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. We would come back just for her service. The food was some of the best Italian inspired fare I've had in a while. The chef's dishes were all complex, tasty, and perfectly seasoned. The classic dishes didn't disappoint and the unique ones were just as amazing. House made pasta yum. Dessert special with a type of almond custard tart topped with fresh pears was to die for! You must try this place.
