Lumen Detroit at Beacon Park offers a unique dining experience in the heart of the city, blending modern architecture with a vibrant park setting. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling retractable windows and one of Detroit's largest outdoor patios, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor ambiance. Guests can enjoy seasonally inspired Modern American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an extensive bar selection, whether on the rooftop or by the cozy outdoor firepits. With its lively atmosphere and picturesque views of Beacon Park, Lumen is the perfect spot for any occasion.

We offer valet parking for $15 Wednesday-Sunday. There is also metered street parking available on a limited basis. Please note that reservations will be held for 15 minutes, after which they are subject to cancelation. We allot 2 hours per table for dining, after which we may ask for your table. Due to the possibility of inclement weather our patio tables are available on a first-come first-served basis.

    Our heated, full-service Private Chalets are currently available for reservations and can accommodate groups of up to 10. Please note that all Private Chalet reservations are subject to a $35 per person food and beverage minimum (tax & gratuity not included) which is due at the time of booking. This $35 per person charge will be deducted from the bill the night of your reservation. All Private Chalet reservations are allotted 2 hours for dining, after which we may ask for the table. Because of limited availability and high demand, your 2-hour time begins at the time of your reservation. A 20% gratuity may be added to ALL Chalet reservations. Chalet Reservations are refundable up to 48 hours in advance, after which all sales are final.

    It's very nice inside the restaurant. All the windows give a great view. Food was all delish! Problem is the service. It's so strange. There is zero enthusiasm. No one was unfriendly, they were just blah. Could barely hear our waitress' voice. Never introduced herself. The first thing she said was "Do you want anything to drink besides water?" How about "Hello! My name is __________ and I will be your server" or "Welcome to Lumen. Are you celebrating anything?" or a million other phrases. The food runner just started dropping off plates without regard to who ordered what. Zero friendliness. It's a beautiful restaurant, food is great, but I have no desire to go back, due to the bored, untrained staff.

    A fantastic experience with the igloo setting, great food, super fun drinks and most of all great waitress and excellent chef. Thank you from Detroit, South Lyon and Saginaw families. We will be back

    We ate outside in one of the chalets and it was nice and warm and our waitress Brianna was great ! Food was hot and delicious !

    ANOTHER Wonderful Dining experience at Lumen - 5 Years to the Day we 1st dined there!!! Hostess Rose was able to adjust our reservation when we had car trouble/Melissa was a great server/Food and Staff were top notch as always. Lumen is our favorite downtown dining spot and we have introduced a number of our friends to it in the 5 years since we found it.

    the atmosphere is wonderful. i have been eating here since it opened and absolutely love it. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Food is good ! Highly recommend

    The food and experience in the chalet was great. Felt like the chalet was extremely hot, we asked to turn it down but they initially said they couldn’t because multiple chalets are controlled by one setting. Then we asked again, and was told many people are complaining about it so they will turn it down but it still didn’t make any difference. So we cracked opened the door, which made it cold. So that part was just unpleasant with being hot and cold. Plus the tables and benches are metal so that didn’t help with how hot everything was. Food was great and drinks were strong!

    This was a lovely dinner with my husband after an afternoon enjoying the Christmas lights and spirit of downtown. We walked to the restaurant from Campus Martious, which we wouldn’t do again! The food was very good and the restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays. The wine list was decent and well-priced. Lots of dining igloos too! We’ll go back.
