Madame Ushi Aspen offers a "beautiful room" with a "chic intimate club-like atmosphere" and "beautiful food preparations." Diners praise the "great service" and "fun Aspen experience." While some dishes like the hamachi and prime tenderloin are highlights, the restaurant can be "overpriced" and seating arrangements may need improvement.

This was my second time here our group felt this time the experience was disappointing. Food quality regular & service was unfortunately not good. There was an excessive amount of water being poured constantly which became quite annoying.

Offered up a dreadful table by the toilets on arrival despite the restaurant not being full. The two seater tables means one person looks at a wall.

I have mixed feelings about my visit. To begin with, the entrance could use attention—descending a flight of stairs to that covered thing there? What is it ? However, once inside, the ambiance is much better, with characterful features like the interesting door frames , hide outs rooms, a lighting atmosphere and an impressive art wall. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the two young hostesses at the front. They lacked professionalism and organizational skills. I arrived at 5:55 PM, and instead of checking me in, they told me they weren’t seating yet and asked me to wait , why open the door then ? So , at 6 PM, chaos ensued. They didn’t check guests in by order of arrival, creating unnecessary confusion. Adding to this, we were seated at an uncomfortable table in the corridor by the bar. This setup was especially unsuitable since I was dining with a 13-year-old. I requested a change, particularly since there were many empty tables at that time, but the manager dismissed my concern, claiming it was the busiest night. Strangely, when I left at 8 PM, many of those same tables were still unoccupied. On a positive note, the service was excellent. Nacho, one of our servers, was particularly attentive and accommodating. Regarding the food, it was a mixed bag. The salmon crispy rice lacked flavor and something felt off, but the hamachi was fantastic, and the prime tenderloin was good as well. Overall, the disorganization at the front desk left a sour note at the start of our evening. Improved training for the hostesses and a more guest-centered seating approach could significantly enhance the experience. First impressions matter, and this initial mishap set the wrong tone for an otherwise decent outing.

Oh boy, where do I begin? What a terrible establishment, just avoid. Food is very, very mediocre at best. The night started out ok, we were a large group of 7 adults. Usually when I dine out with a group we order altogether and then share the cost at the end, but this time people wanted to order their own thing and keep track of their orders separately (3 groups). The restaurant seemed to not have a problem accommodating but then when the food began to arrive, it was all over the place. We order tree orders of the same apetizer, and two arrived together, while the last one came a good 15 minutes or more later. Sushi (main) came out before the Edamame (which is like the quickest thing to get at a Sushi place)! Then there were the bus people cleaning the tables and taking dishes that still had food in them without asking if we were finished (we were not) - this happened at least 3 times! When we complained about the erratic service to "manager", we got no explanation but just sorry. Then came the bill and there was a charge at the very bottom of two extra sauces at $10 each (total $20) that nobody ordered! Now this is after we expressed dissatisfaction with the way the night was going. Not only did they not offer to comp the Edamame or anything, they tried to SCAM us out of extra money in hopes that we wouldn't notice! Obviously they took the charge off when we brought it up but still! Avoid at all costs! To be fair, at the end another more senior person found out how we were treated and offered for us to come back to make it right but we declined because I would never want to go back here and because that would have meant to spend more money to get something small for free - no thank you! If you want to make it right, you offer something on the spot, not on another visit.
