Food was very well made. My wife and daughter had been to Greece and both said the food was as good as they had in their trip. The atmosphere was bright and cheery. Staff attentive and friendly. Would go again, it was a very nice time

The hostess set the tone for dinner tonight. Was excited and then we got seated in the worst spot next to the door and hostess where everyone walks in. Nothing like trying to enjoy your meal with the freezing wind coming through every few minutes. When we sat down I asked if we could switch to the open table in the middle of the restaurant away from the door. This request was denied swiftly because she said the system would be too messed up if she were to switch us to a different table. Right, the people that have reservations after us will get their prime choice of seating. She could have just said I don’t know how to change seats but let me get my manager to see if they can help out. Server was nice, a little more training on the menu is still necessary as some of our questions about the menu were not answered. Finally, the gyro I had would have been great if there was more than 4 little chunks of lamb. I just felt like I was eating tzatziki and bread, very disappointing. The meat was also not your typical gyro flavor, and was a little tough to chew. That is the first gyro I’ve ever had that wasn’t tender and juicy. I don’t know what to say. No one went above and beyond, it was very meh and unaccommodating. I could have went to Lucky Cheetah tonight or Scales if I wanted an elevated experience. I was excited for tonight and expect better since we are in Portland after all.

A pleasant evening and enjoyable food and drinks. Smooth but slow service on a busy evening. Variety of Mezze was fun to explore. Worth a second visit on a.warmer night!

Delicious! The greek benedict and the lamb hash were both incredibly well put together, a lovely palette of flavors in each. The baklava was perfect - rich, sweet, and sticky, with aromatic spices.

This was my second meal at Magissa. It was very enjoyable both times. I have passed the word along to friends. The service is truly outstanding....friendly and attentive even when the restaurant is full of diners.

We were blown away by our first meal at MAGISSA. We were greeted by super friendly McKayla who was also our server. The decor and ambiance- bright, full of greenery, comfortable and welcoming. We started with a simple cranberry OJ- simply delicious. My husband had the breakfast combo of eggs, sausage, potatoes, tomato, olives and pita-YUM! I had the amazing chicken and waffles. The chicken was tender on the inside, crunchy on the outside, so full of flavor and the most scrumptious waffle I have ever eaten…plus hot honey and REAL maple syrup. We were checked in on by the bartender Cody who brought us a dinner menu to view. For what we ate, the bill was more than fair. I made it a point to speak to co-owner Emily to congratulate her on this amazing restaurant, amazing food and service, in Bayside Portland. My husband and I both spoke with the chef and expressed our delight with our meals. We are definitely returning, perhaps for dinner next time, but for sure, brunching again soon! Five stars and zero complaints. Highly recommend!

Overall, everything was great. My only complaint would be that we ordered cocktails when we first sat down, along with a couple of appetizers, we were almost done with the appetizers when our cocktails arrived. This happened again when we ordered two classes of wine with our entrees, the wine showed up well after our entrees. I had a 7pm reservation, my wife and I arrived a little early thinking we would have a cocktail before being seated, they were able to seat us right away, but then things felt rushed, as if they needed that table for another reservation.

Small spot with delicious food. The seafood stew was amazing and the tofu in the gyro is perfectly seasoned. And the best spanakopita!
